Welder and Fabricator Job Description We are seeking a skilled Welder and Fabricator with expertise in MIG welding, blueprint reading, and fitting/fabrication. The ideal candidate will lay out, fit, and weld fabricated, cast, and forged components to assemble structural forms such as machinery frames and parts. Responsibilities Identify universal weld symbols and various materials. Set up and operate welding equipment. Layout, position, align, and fit components together. Read and interpret work specifications, work orders, blueprints, and schematics. Visually inspect completed welds to assure adherence to specifications. Perform air arc gouging when removing welds or preparing weld joints. Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions. Accurately cut, clean, de-burr and prep parts for welding. Utilize rigging and crane/jib. Essential Skills 3-5+ years of MIG welding experience. Proficiency in reading blueprints and schematics. Experience in fitting and fabrication. Ability to perform spray arc welding and use metal-cored wire/flux core welding. Strong understanding of weld symbols. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in an industrial fab shop working around large scale parts. Why Work Here? Work Environment Work in a dynamic fabrication shop with a swing shift from 3:45 pm to 2:15 am, Monday through Thursday, with optional overtime on Fridays. Enjoy a $2 shift differential. Be prepared for exposure to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and high, precarious places. The noise level is typically moderate. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wilsonville, OR. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $30.00/hr.
