In this role, you will take ownership of welding projects within our shop environment, demonstrating expert craftsmanship and mechanical aptitude. Your ability to work independently while adhering to safety standards and technical specifications will be essential to delivering high-quality fabrication and assembly work. This position offers an exciting opportunity for experienced welders passionate about precision, fabrication, and contributing directly to manufacturing excellence. Responsibilities Operate various welding techniques including
MIG, TIG, FCAW
(Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and welding to complete fabrication tasks efficiently and accurately. Read and interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure precise assembly and fabrication of components. Use hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment to shape, cut, and assemble sheet metal and ductwork. Measure materials with calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools to meet exact specifications. Perform pipe threading, soldering, rigging, machining, and assembly tasks as required for complex projects. Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following all safety protocols related to construction site practices, ASME codes & standards, and shop safety procedures. Collaborate with team members or work independently on projects involving mechanical knowledge, blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and fabrication processes. Operate forklifts or other material handling equipment when necessary for moving heavy components or finished products. Qualifications Proven construction site experience with a strong understanding of safety standards and site protocols. Proficiency in MIG welding, TIG welding, FCAW welding techniques along with specific welding skills. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately. Skilled in using calipers, micrometers, hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment. Knowledge of mechanical systems including pipe threading, ductwork fabrication, assembly processes and schematic interpretation. Familiarity with ASME codes & standards applicable to welding and fabrication projects. Basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations related to fabrication tasks. Experience working with sheet metal components in a manufacturing or construction environment. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently as a single hand welder while maintaining quality standards.
