The ideal candidate is highly skilled in MIG and TIG welding on various metals (steel, stainless steel, aluminum) and possesses a strong background in reading blueprints and operating fabrication equipment.
Key Responsibilities Welding:
Perform high-quality MIG, TIG, and Stick welding on complex custom assemblies.
Fabrication:
Lay out, cut, fit, and form materials using shop equipment such as saws, shears, and press brakes.
Blueprint Reading:
Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and welding symbols to complete projects to exact specifications.
Quality Control:
Inspect completed welds and fabricated parts using calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
Safety & Maintenance:
Maintain a clean, safe work environment and perform routine maintenance on welding and shop machinery.
Qualifications Experience:
Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience in custom metal fabrication and welding.
Certifications:
AWS (American Welding Society) D1.1 or similar certifications strongly preferred.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency with hydraulic shears, brakes, grinders, and drill presses.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy equipment (50+ lbs), and perform physical work. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, welding, and assembling metal components to meet project specifications and quality standards. Responsibilities Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine fabrication requirements. Perform
MIG, TIG, FCAW
(Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and welding with precision to produce durable, high-quality welds. Use hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment to shape and assemble metal parts. Measure materials accurately using calipers, micrometers, and other precision instruments; perform basic math calculations for measurements and tolerances. Fabricate sheet metal components, ductwork, piping, and structural assemblies in accordance with ASME codes & standards. Operate rigging equipment and forklifts safely for material handling and assembly tasks. Conduct quality inspections on finished products using calipers, micrometers, schematics, and visual checks to ensure compliance with specifications. Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols related to welding, machining, rigging, and construction site practices. Requirements Proven construction site experience or manufacturing background with hands-on fabrication skills. Proficiency in MIG welding, TIG welding, FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), plasma cutting, and welding techniques. Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and mechanical drawings. Experience operating hand tools, power tools, press brake machines, plasma cutters, and machining equipment. Ability to use calipers, micrometers, and other precision measurement tools accurately. Familiarity with rigging procedures and forklift operation for material handling. Basic math skills including measurements conversions and tolerance calculations. Knowledge of ASME codes & standards relevant to fabrication work is a plus. Excellent attention to detail combined with strong problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.
