Mig Welder Job Description We are seeking an entry to mid-level MIG Welder to join a custom fabrication shop supporting low‑volume, high‑mix projects. This role involves welding and fabricating metal components based on shop drawings and blueprints. Ideal candidates have hands‑on MIG welding experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast‑paced, job‑shop environment. Responsibilities Perform MIG (GMAW) welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and/or aluminum components Fabricate and weld custom parts, frames, brackets, and assemblies per prints and work orders Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and basic weld symbols Set up and adjust welding machines (voltage, wire feed, gas flow) for various materials and thicknesses Perform fit‑up, tacking, and final weld‑out of fabricated assemblies Use hand and power tools including grinders, saws, drills, and measuring tools for joint prep and cleanup Inspect completed welds for quality, accuracy, and conformance to specifications Perform basic rework or repairs as needed to meet quality standards Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Follow all shop safety procedures and PPE requirements Support general shop fabrication tasks as needed Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Charleston, SC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $29.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
