Job Description

Job Overview Chambers Welding & Fabrication is seeking a skilled and dependable Shop Welder/Fabricator to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety in their work —including repairing, modifying, and fabricating custom metal projects. You will work primarily in our shop using a wide range of equipment while supporting both internal fabrication and field installation needs. The ideal candidate is a team player who can also work independently , takes pride in quality craftsmanship, and is comfortable operating shop equipment in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Perform MIG, FCAW, Stick, and TIG welding on a variety of materials and projects Fabricate, repair, and modify metal components including structural steel, equipment, ductwork, and custom builds Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and welding symbols accurately Use shop equipment such as plasma cutters, press brakes, grinders, saws, and machining tools Measure and verify dimensions using calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools Operate forklifts and rigging equipment safely for material handling Assist with fit-up, layout, and assembly of projects from start to finish Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment Collaborate with team members while also being able to work independently when needed Support shop workflow to ensure projects are completed on time and to quality standards What We're Looking For Strong experience in shop fabrication and welding (not field-only) Proficiency in MIG and FCAW welding (Stick required; TIG is a plus) Ability to repair, modify, and build from scratch Comfortable using shop equipment and fabrication machinery Experience operating a forklift (or willingness to be certified) Ability to read and execute from blueprints and measurements Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship Ability to work in a team environment while staying productive independently Reliable, motivated, and takes ownership of their work Preferred (But Not Required) AWS certifications Experience with metal repair, structural steel, or custom fabrication Forklift certification Why Join Chambers Welding & Fabrication Work on a wide variety of projects —no repetitive production work Be part of a team that values quality, precision, and problem-solving Opportunity to grow your skills in both fabrication and repair work Stable shop environment with a strong focus on teamwork and craftsmanship Ideal Candidate Someone who: Enjoys hands-on work and variety Can jump between repair, modification, and fabrication projects Takes pride in doing the job right the first time Is dependable, efficient, and a strong contributor to the team
