Job Description

Description :
This positon is responsible for the assembly of prepared components to specifications and the final body weld that will produce a quality finished torque converter. Employee must be capable of performing technical procedures and achieve proficiency in meeting production and quality standards. Must have problem solving skills. Will need to gain knowledge of various makes, models, and various applications of torque converters. Will need to gain knowledge of various MIG/TIG welding methods and welding equipment. Communicate to Line Leader, Quality, and employees to improve process flow and quality.
Job Responsibilities and Duties:
Description:
Ability to learn the basic components, proper assembly, and be able to learn multiple applications This job requires attention to detail. Must meet safety, quality, production, housekeeping, and 5S requirements. Must be able to identify components, assemble properly, inspect components and meet quality specifications. Make go/no go decisions. Assemble components to specification including but not limited to: Work Instructions, Training material, Height, end play, internal clearance, follow Bill of Materials, reference Exploded Views, visual aids, Quality Alerts, and other documents Use computer to access files and documentation, etc. Follow Work Order schedule, Work Order fulfillment, QR code label scanning Perform daily operator preventive maintenance and complete daily audit list Change gas containers and welding wire Responsible for clean welds with zero holes Leak test torque converter and repair leaks Maintain that welding plate is clean and free of debris Autonomy to reject parts for poor hub weld or other defects Identify and / or troubleshoot constraint issues. Willingness to take initiative and action Ability to coach other welders on part quality specifications and how good vs. bad parts are identified Ability to work as a part of a team and lead by example Assist with welding tests and welding audits as needed Assist with on-the-job training to help qualify new operators and requalify experienced operators Must have flexibility to rotate between lines Assist in team problem solving and continuous improvements Willing to be tested over basic welding set up and operations, including operator preventative maintenance Must have good attendance and performance record Perform all other duties as assigned by supervision
Safety Requirements:
Use of proper PPE required for the various processes
Quality Accountability:
Responsible for meeting specifications including but not limited to: Overall Height, End Play, Body Run Out, Dome Run Out, Hub Run Out. Make go/no-go decisions Meet specifications and documentation Use gages, calipers, height gages, etc. Record output, readings, rejects, etc. as needed.
Physical Demands:
Standing, lifting, twisting, bending Lifting up to 40+ lbs. frequently, 60+ lbs. occasionally Reaching for component parts above shoulders occasionally Fast pace and repetitive

Must be willing to be trained and audited for safety, quality, production, and 5S
