Reading and interpreting blueprints: TIG welders need to understand blueprints to determine welding requirements and ensure welds meet specifications.
Preparing materials:
This includes cutting, cleaning, and shaping metal components to fit the welding process.
Setting up welding equipment:
This involves configuring the TIG torch, gas regulator, and other necessary equipment.
Performing TIG welding:
TIG welders use a precise and high-quality welding technique to join various metals.
Inspecting welds:
They ensure welds meet quality standards and specifications, looking for defects or issues.
Maintaining equipment:
TIG welders are responsible for maintaining the welding equipment to ensure it's in good working order.
Following safety procedures:
They must adhere to safety guidelines and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Skills and Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent TIG welding certification: While not always required, it can be beneficial. Certification demonstrates expertise in TIG welding techniques.
Experience in TIG welding:
