Fabricator / Welder (Heavy Manufacturing)

Full-time 1st Shift 7:00am - 3:30pm; (Overtime as needed) Job Summary We are a premier manufacturing company specializing in building rugged dump bodies for dump trucks . We are seeking a versatile Welder / Fabricator to join our production line. In this role, you will not just be a production welder; you will be a true craftsman who handles the process from raw steel to the finished truck body. You will operate fabrication machinery (saws and press brakes) to prep your own materials, fit them to specification, and weld them into heavy-duty dump bodies.

Responsibilities Welding:

Perform high-quality MIG welding on heavy-duty structural steel and steel plates to assemble dump truck bodies.

Metal Fabrication:

Read blueprints and fabrication drawings to layout, position, fit, and secure parts prior to welding.

Equipment Operation:

Safely operate a mechanical saw to cut steel stock and a hydraulic press brake to bend steel plates to specified angles.

Quality & Safety:

Inspect your own welds and measurements to ensure structural integrity and strict blueprint compliance.

Material Handling:

Utilize overhead cranes, hoists, and forklifts to safely position heavy truck body components. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent (Vocational school training is a plus).

Experience:

2+ years of dual experience in both MIG welding and structural metal fabrication. Ability to pass a pre-employment Drug screening and weld test (e.g., MIG/TIG).

Machine Skills:

Proven experience setting up and operating mechanical band/cold saws and press brakes.

Technical Skills:

Strong ability to read fabrication blueprints, welding symbols, and a tape measure down to 1/16".

Physical Demands:

Ability to work in a heavy manufacturing shop environment, stand for long periods, and lift up to 50 lbs.
