Job Summary for Welder Ulrich Horse Barns is looking for a production welder. The Welder is responsible for reading blueprints, measuring, cutting, and welding materials used in the assembly of our custom-made sheds, garages, barns, and playhouses. The ideal candidate will have steady hands and great attention to detail matched with a positive attitude and a productive work ethic. Job Duties for Welder Reading blueprints and drawings and taking measurements to plan layout and procedures. Setting up components for welding according to specifications. Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements. Operating angle grinders to prepare parts that must be welded. Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps. Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover any flaws and ensure product quality. Maintain equipment to ensure safety. Follow all safety precautions. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications for Welder Proven experience as a welder Professional Welding Certification is a plus Manufacturing or warehouse production knowledge is a plus Strong attention to detail Knowledge of metallurgy Experience using electrical or manual tools (squares, calipers, saws, etc.) Knowledge of safety standards and use of proper safety gear (face-shield, gloves, etc.) Must be able to read blueprints and drawings Knowledge of various welding techniques, including TIG and MIG, as well as manual and mechanical Basic math knowledge including ability to add and subtract in all units of standard US measurements, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals Must be able to lift 50 pounds Must be able to climb a ladder, stoop, bend and kneel for extended periods of time Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment Excellent attention to detail with ability to be proactive and operate with a sense of urgency. Must work in a team environment with a positive attitude Work Environment for Welder Majority of work will take place indoors, but some may be required outdoors with exposure to various weather elements.
