Job Title:
MIG Welder Job Description Responsible for laying out and welding structural steel to build metal structures. Responsibilities Weld and cut black carbon and galvanized steel while interpreting blueprints. Operate hand tools, grinders, and basic shop machinery, with a willingness to learn new operations. Ensure products are manufactured according to specifications. Maintain a neat and clean work area in accordance with 6S standards. Adhere to and comply with all company safety requirements. Read and understand schematics and blueprints. Read basic blueprints and weld symbols accurately. Measure accurately using a tape measure. Perform basic arithmetic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division). Operate vehicles, mechanical devices, or equipment. Pass 3G/4G tests in MIG welding with a focus on vertical/uphill welds and column welds. Train other new welders as part of job duties. Essential Skills Strong history in Flux-core welding and MIG welding. Proficiency in reading blueprints and tape measures. Minimum of 4 years recent welding experience. Ability to read welding blueprints and pass blueprint tests. Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English without restrictions. Ability to lift 50 lbs without restrictions. Computer proficiency within a Windows environment for basic navigation tasks. Additional Skills & Qualifications TIG welding skills are a huge plus. The first shift operates from 6:00am to 3:30pm, Monday through Friday. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dallas, TX.
