STAFFING NETWORK
is seeking a welder/tech II to join our team in Grand Prairie, TX! The Welder/Manufacturing Technician II for a satellite branch is responsible for a wide variety of functions including the assembly of products, welding, painting, preparing products for shipment, loading, and unloading of trucks, and maintaining accurate job transaction paperwork.
Payrate:
$24-$26 depending on experience
Shift/Hours:
1st shift 8AM-430PM (Monday-Friday)
RESPONSIBLITIES
Follow specifications or procedures for set-up and machine operation using blueprints, instructions, and machine knowledge. Read, understand, and follow job order specifications, blueprints, work instructions and procedures. Prepare all material surfaces to be welded ensuring that there is no loose or thick scale, slag, rust, moisture, grease, or other foreign matter. Weld steel components with welding equipment as specified by procedures, layouts, blueprints, diagrams, work orders, or oral instructions. Weld predominantly in the flat position operating a positioner to progress the weld. Examine work pieces for defects including use of weld gages or tape measures to ensure conformance with specifications. Load trucks with outgoing products and unload trucks with incoming materials placing it in the appropriate locations. Maintain complete and accurate paperwork. Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to supervisor. Willingness to cross train and perform the work of other job tasks when necessary. Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent. 3-5 years of welding experience preferred, with instruction such as a welding certificate or technical diploma counting toward experience. Aptitude to read and interpret blueprints and weld specifications. Six months or more of assembly, general labor, machine operation, and/or shipping and receiving experience preferred. Prior experience in shipping and receiving in a warehouse environment preferred. Prior experience operating forklifts, jib cranes, and overhead cranes preferred. Basic mathematical skills and ability to perform precise measurements using a tape measure, square and weld gages. Basic computer skills to accurately gather and input data from computer systems and record job transactions. Capability to lift 70 lbs with regularity and up to 150 lbs occasionally.
