What a day looks like From your first pass to final inspection, you'll translate blueprints into reality—aligning, fitting, and welding parts into subassemblies and complete units. You'll use jigs, hand tools, and multiple welding processes to meet exact tolerances, marking cut and bend lines to allow for weld shrinkage, material thickness, and other specifications. Throughout, you'll keep precise measurements, provide build documentation, and uphold OSHA-aligned safety standards. Your core impact Position, align, fit, and weld components using jigs, hand tools, and welding torches Interpret blueprints and engineering drawings; determine build sequence and requirements Mark cut/bend lines accounting for machine/weld shrinkage, stock thickness, and specs Use measuring devices fluently; perform essential arithmetic for layout and fit-up Communicate clear instructions and documentation for fabrication and assembly Operate with safety-first discipline in accordance with company procedures and OSHA Perform other duties as assigned to support production goals Apply stick, MIG, TIG, and oxy-acetylene torch techniques as needed What you'll bring High school diploma or GED; ability to read and write English Preferred background in industrial or manufacturing settings Knowledge of metals, welding fluxes, and filler rods Comfort working overhead, beneath machinery, and in tight spaces Ability to work around high-voltage equipment and excessive heat Strength to push, pull, or lift heavy parts with or without assistance Work environment & physical demands Loud production setting with exposure to extreme temperatures; some outdoor tasks Repetitive motion with kneeling, crouching, and stooping Frequent use of hands to handle tools, controls, and materials Lift up to 50 lbs while bending, twisting, and standing Technical proficiency GD&T Troubleshooting Skills OSHA 10-Hour Certification (OSHA 10) Tape Measure Reading Welding Setups for Production Vehicle & Fleet Welding Blueprint Reading Tools & technologies you'll use MIG Welder (ESAB, Fronius, Kemppi, Hobart, Everlast) TIG Welder (ESAB, Fronius, Kemppi, Hobart, Everlast, CK Worldwide) Stick Welder Flux-Cored Arc Welder Laser Welder Schedule & pay
Schedule:
