Midland, TX Job Details Full-time 1 day ago Qualifications High school diploma or GED Full Job Description ROLE The Shop Hand is responsible for safely and efficiently operating and maintaining equipment and products pertaining to spooling services and applications. Shop Hands should be proficient in the use of spooling equipment, orbital welding machines, pumps, overhead cranes and hand tools used to operate, maintain, and repair equipment. The job duties herein describe essential functions of the position. Additionally, regular attendance and punctuality are essential to the success of the position. The individual should be able to perform these essential functions with or without requested reasonable accommodations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
General mechanical ability Performs daily inspections and preventive maintenance on shop equipment & tools, such as spoolers, forklifts, overhead cranes, and lifting slings Operate spooling equipment to wind and re-spool wireline, slickline, coiled tubing, or cable onto reels/drums to specified tension and pattern requirements Set up and prepare spooling machinery prior to use, including adjusting tension, speed, and other settings based on wire type and spooling requirements Load wire coils or tubing onto the spooling machine and remove spooled reels once the process is complete, handling materials safely and efficiently to prevent damage or accidents Basic welding skills preferred but not required (training will be given for specialty welding) Maintaining a clean shop and work area to ensure a safe and presentable workspace for both employees and customers using the facility Responsible for assisting Inventory Controller with parts stocking and inventory counts when needed Receiving, testing, counting, and logging customer owned equipment using processes put in place by the Inventory Controller Promote and strictly adhere to all Company HSE policies and practices. Conduct all business activities in accordance with company code of conduct, policies and procedures and all applicable legal requirements. Perform other duties and activities assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS HS/GED
Available to work overtime as needed.

Ability to stand, sit and/or walk on a hard surface safely bend, stoop, and reach for 8 to 10 hours a day Communicates well both verbally and in writing and shares information and ideas with others Committed to contributing to Company's success through on-the-job performance.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position requires working primarily in an industrial facility, which may not be temperature controlled around machines with moving parts and electrical equipment. It also requires exposure to loud noises and contaminants. The physical demands described here are representative of the requirements that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is frequently required to walk and sit, as well as to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds. The employee is often required to stand, stoop or kneel. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
