Job Description
ESS Fabrication LLC, an ASME certified company, is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented ASME TIG and MIG Welder with a minimum of 3 years of experience to perform high-quality welding on stainless steel and carbon steel components. This role requires adherence to ASME Section IX welding codes and the ability to produce welds that meet strict quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced fabrication environment and works closely with production, quality control, and engineering teams to ensure project specifications are met on time and within budget. Candidates must pass welding tests on coupons during the interview process to demonstrate their qualifications. Key Responsibilities Perform TIG (GTAW) and MIG (GMAW) welding (SMAW welding is an added advantage) on stainless steel and carbon steel components following ASME codes and company procedures Interpret and follow engineering drawings, welding symbols, and technical specifications to produce precise welds Inspect welds for quality and ensure compliance with weld procedure specifications (WPS) Collaborate with fabrication, engineering, and quality teams to resolve welding-related issues Maintain welding equipment and tools in proper working order Adhere to all safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) Document welding activities and maintain accurate records as required Assist in troubleshooting and repairing weld defects or rework as necessary Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of experience in TIG and MIG welding SMAW welding is added advantage) stainless steel and carbon steel ASME Welding Certification (Section IX) required Welding education or AWS Certified Welder credential preferred Must pass welding tests on coupons during the interview as part of the hiring process Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, welding symbols, and technical specifications Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship Familiarity with welding safety standards and use of PPE Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment Work Environment On-site at ESS Fabrication's facility in Waller, Texas Industrial fabrication shop setting with exposure to welding fumes, noise, and heat Use of personal protective equipment required Collaboration with multiple departments including production, quality, and engineering Certifications/Training ASME Section IX Welding Certification required AWS Certified Welder or welding education preferred
