Job Description

Aerotek is hiring for multiple Welders in Spokane, paying $20-$30/hr (DOE).

Job Description This role focuses on welding and fabricating structural steel in a shop environment, primarily working on I-beams for the construction industry. You will read and interpret blueprints, perform high-quality welds, and contribute to the efficient production of structural steel components. The ability to fit and fabricate is preferred but not strictly required. Responsibilities Perform welding and fabrication on structural steel components, with a primary focus on I-beams for construction projects. Read and interpret blueprints to understand project specifications, dimensions, and weld requirements. Set up welding equipment and select appropriate settings for flux core, MIG, and other applicable welding processes. Produce consistent, high-quality welds efficiently and effectively to meet production goals and quality standards. Assist with fitting and fabrication of structural steel assemblies when needed. Handle and assemble mild steel components according to drawings and work instructions. Inspect welded joints and fabricated parts to ensure accuracy, structural integrity, and compliance with specifications. Work collaboratively with other shop personnel to maintain workflow, meet deadlines, and support overall production. Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area in the shop bay environment. Essential Skills Proven experience in welding and fabrication, particularly with structural steel. Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately for structural steel fabrication. Proficiency with flux core (FCAW) welding processes. Proficiency with MIG welding on mild steel. Capability to produce efficient, effective, and structurally sound welds in a production environment. Experience working with structural steel components such as I-beams. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety in a shop environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with fitting and fabrication of structural steel assemblies is preferred. Background in structural steel fabrication and assembly. Familiarity with hard wire welding processes is helpful. Experience with TIG welding is a plus. Ability to work effectively in a production-focused setting and meet deadlines. Why Work Here? Work Environment You will work in an indoor shop bay environment focused on structural steel fabrication. The facility is indoors but not temperature controlled, so conditions may vary with the seasons. The role is hands-on and production-oriented, involving regular use of welding equipment and tools for flux core, MIG, and other welding processes on mild steel and structural components. Appropriate workwear suitable for a welding shop, including protective gear, is expected to ensure safety and comfort in this industrial setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mead, WA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $32.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
