Welder/Fitter Job Description We are a diverse, high-volume manufacturing facility seeking a 1st shift Welder/Fabricator due to growth and increased business. This highly skilled role requires an individual who can work independently while being versatile enough to handle various projects to maintain company throughput. The Light Weld Department is the central hub of our production floor, supplying critical sub-fabrications that keep the entire company moving. Responsibilities Perform MIG, TIG, and Flux welding on stainless steel, carbon steel, and aluminum components, ensuring adherence to industry standards. Interpret and follow blueprints to arrange and tack metal pieces in position before welding. Read engineering sketches and drawings and understand welding symbols. Weld in all positions, including flat, vertical, and overhead, and work in confined spaces as required. Use metal saws or shears and a wide variety of tools. Support daily throughput by contributing to various manufacturing lines as production schedules dictate. Assemble and weld collapsible aluminum containers with precision Aluminum MIG/TIG welding and structural riveting. Fit and weld sub-assemblies, tanks, and plumbing components for custom explosives bulk mixing trucks. Fabricate sub-components for volumetric testing trailers and skids used in the petroleum industry. Weld sheet metal cabinetry and components for pressure vessels used in commercial sanitation. Read, comprehend, and build directly from complex technical blueprints and engineering drawings. Fit, align, and weld pre-made components sourced from our in-house plasma table, press brake area, and machine shop. Perform standard leak tests on welded assemblies to ensure structural integrity and operational safety. Essential Skills 5+ years experience as a Welder Fitter. Strong proficiency in MIG Welding on Aluminum, Steel, and Stainless Steel. Strong proficiency in TIG Welding on Aluminum, Steel, and Stainless Steel. Proficiency in Flux Core Welding on Steel and Stainless Steel. Ability to accurately use measuring instruments like tape measure. Ability to work well under pressure, multi-task, and meet deadlines. Ability to react to frequent schedule and routing changes. Valid driver's license. Additional Skills & Qualifications Motivated and enthusiastic team member. Ability to lift and move metal products weighing up to 50 lbs. Why Work Here? Work Environment The position is for the 1st shift from Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, with overtime as needed, generally working until 4:30 PM, averaging 5-10 hours per week. The facility is non-climate controlled, emphasizing a hands-on environment where employees are physically active. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mt Holly, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $33.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
