Weld Department Summary:

We are seeking a skilled setup welder to join our team! Under the supervision of the Welding Manager/Shop Manager, the setup welder will be responsible for the assembly and welding of fabrications that meet or exceed customer expectations. The setup welder will be proficient in the use of MIG, TIG and SMAW processes as called out for by customer specifications.

Responsibilities:

1. The set-up and welding of various metal components according to customer specifications. 2. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings. 3. Perform complex weld set-ups, subject to review by supervisor. 4. Use of various hand tools, power hand tools, and machine tools to make finish adjustments to parts. 5. Examine finished weldment to ensure quality of weld, and straightness of finished weldment. 6. Perform general preventive maintenance work on tools and equipment. 7. Guide assisting personnel on correct procedures. 8. Process all necessary documentation and paperwork for completed jobs. 9. Follow all clean-up and housekeeping procedures. 10. Understand and follow quality requirements and standards for each different customer. 11. Perform in-process checks to ensure quality conformance and avoid rework.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage.

The employee is frequently required to walk and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; reach above shoulders; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with the use of an overhead hoist.

Job Schedule:

Full-time:

10-hour shift, four days per week Monday through

Thursday:

5:00am-3:00pm Overtime worked on Fridays as required

Education & Experience:

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)
• Technical College Degree (Encouraged)
