The Complex Welder is responsible reading and interpreting engineering drawings and fabricating a product in a timely, cost effective and consistent manner to ensure a quality end product with a high degree of detail, to ensure external customer requirements are met.
Role & Responsibilities:
Perform MIG welding on mild steel, ranging from 20 gauge to 1-inch thickness Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and setup requirements Use metal finishing tools such as grinders, abrasives, and other hand tools to achieve high finish standards Operate equipment such as cranes, positioners, magnets, and fixtures for positioning and securing workpieces Layout, cut, punch, and drill materials for fabrication Inspect products for defects and ensure conformance with quality standards Handle and fabricate various steel materials, including tubes, angles, and channels (16 gauge to ½" thick)
What We're Looking For:
High School Diploma required; Welding degree/certificate preferred 3-5 years' experience as a welder fitter (heavy manufacturing a plus) Strong blueprint reading, math, and measuring skills Ability to stay organized, meet deadlines, and solve problems on the fly Team player mindset with the motivation to keep learning and growing High Attention to safety and quality standards Work Environment The employee works in production environments. He/she may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to indoor and outside weather conditions. Physical Requirements :
Frequent standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, squatting, stooping, crouching, crawling, twisting, bending, and reaching.
Lifting/Carrying:
Occasionally required to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Manual Dexterity:
Requires regular use of hands and arms to grasp, handle, manipulate, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
