The individuals will perform surface preparation and painting of marine vessels. We're seeking marine painters with experience in commercial applications who will sand, fair, prime and paint vessel of all types.

Responsibilities:

Wash, scrape, sand and fair interior and exterior surfaces Apply finish coats of paint/varnish by hand, brush and spray systems Tape or otherwise protect surrounding surfaces such as decks, hardware, windows during work process Operate compressors, sand blasters, spray systems Follow specific mixing and application processes Clean equipment and maintain safe, tidy work area Work as a team member and communicate effectively Follow regulatory guidelines and safety standards

Requirements:

Must have experience in commercial application Must have experience applying finish coats to appropriate thickness Must have experience using essential tools Must be able to wear a respirator for prolonged periods Must be comfortable working from lifts or on scaffolding Knowledge and operation of basic hand and power tools; Sandpapers, paintbrushes, cleaning agents, tapes, grinders, surface sanders, etc. Two (2) to three (3) years painting experience, preferably marine

Applicant may be subject to environmental conditions such as cold, heat, exposure to noise, hazards, and confined spaces/close quarters. Applicant must be aware of work environment at all times.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to lift, stand, walk, kneel, crouch, stoop, use hands and fingers, handle tools or controls, and talk and hear others.
