About Six Maritime Six Maritime is a veteran-owned maritime operations company supporting U.S. naval shipyards, defense contractors, commercial ports, and critical maritime infrastructure across the United States. We specialize in waterborne security operations, maritime logistics, vessel operations, training, and emerging maritime technologies. We are actively hiring experienced Boat Captains / Coxswains to support security operations, shipyard escort missions, harbor patrols, vessel protection zones, logistics support, and maritime operations nationwide. Position Overview The Maritime Security Boat Captain / Coxswain is responsible for safely operating small craft in support of maritime security and operational missions. Candidates must possess strong boat handling skills, sound judgment, professionalism, and the ability to operate in dynamic maritime environments alongside military, law enforcement, and commercial maritime partners.
Operations may include:
Harbor and shipyard security patrols Escort operations for naval and commercial vessels Vessel protection zone enforcement Port security operations Logistics and personnel transport Day/night operations in varying sea states Responsibilities Safely operate patrol craft in accordance with company SOPs and applicable regulations Conduct pre-mission vessel inspections and ensure vessel readiness Maintain situational awareness and communicate effectively with operations personnel Navigate congested waterways and high-traffic maritime environments Execute security patrols and escort operations professionally and safely Maintain logs, reports, and operational documentation Support crew coordination, fueling, maintenance reporting, and mission planning Represent Six Maritime professionally with clients and government partners
Qualifications Required:
Minimum 2+ years of professional boat handling experience Experience operating small craft, RHIBs, patrol boats, or similar vessels Valid U.S. driver's license Ability to travel on short notice Ability to work long hours, nights, weekends, and rotational schedules Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to pass background screening and drug testing
Preferred:
