JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for a talented Marketing Lead to join our team at Duarte Nursery and take ownership of our marketing and communication channels. The new Marketing Lead for Duarte Nursery will be creative, ambitious, purpose-driven, analytical, well-organized, and hardworking. Success in this role looks like: on-time event execution, consistent content output, brand‑aligned design work, and measurable growth in engagement or outreach.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Event Planning:

Promotion, coordination, and execution of multiple annual events hosted by Duarte Nursery, including Friends Day tradeshow, orchard field days, and industry parties. Involves building and developing relationships with guests, exhibitors, sponsors, and vendors, planning and managing a logistics team, promotional campaigns through multiple channels, and high-level event planning.

Tradeshows:

Management of Duarte Nursery's presence at multiple industry tradeshows throughout the year, including registration, booking hotels, coordinating setup, sending calendar invites, and other related tasks.

Social Media:

Strategic video and graphic content published and managed on multiple channels.

Graphic Design:

Ability to design and update flyers, advertisements, posters, digital content, and related branding materials to print-ready specifications, ideally through Canva Pro.

Website Updates:

Responsible for maintaining and updating website pages with events, product information, and general changes.

Tours & Outreach:

Facilitate requests for educational tours and act as primary point of contact and tour guide.

Advertising & General Marketing:

Coordinate paid advertising as needed, manage a budget for marketing operations, develop ambitious ideas and execute them with high-level organizational skills, communication, and mindfulness.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in agriculture, communications, marketing, journalism, or a related field.
• 1-3+ years of experience in marketing preferred.
• Experience in graphic design, data visualization, copywriting, and video editing is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with Canva Pro, WordPress website editor, Microsoft Outlook, Meta Business Suite, and Constant Contact preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITY

The marketing lead will be able to:

• Work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and manage multiple projects at once.
• Maintain excellent communication and follow-up skills.
• Manage and update a shared calendar for events and deadlines.
• Strategically use AI tools to enhance marketing output and efficiency.
• Regularly transport & set up tradeshow and marketing supplies up to 50lbs.

GOOD TO HAVE

• Background or experience in California agriculture and familiarity with tree nut industry events.
• Conversational or fluent Spanish.

Salary Range:
