Training Health Education Full Job Description Purpose:
Center in the Park's Health Promotion Supervisor is responsible for implementing CIP's Strategic Plan goals and objectives, focusing on health and wellness, evidence-based programs, and academic-community-based participatory research. The Health Promotion Supervisor at CIP implements a proactive wellness model, integrating evidence-based programs to address health disparities among older adults. This approach embodies CIP's philosophy of innovation, collaboration, and inclusion. Additionally, the supervisor supports academic-community-based participatory research projects, as funded.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Fully comprehend, articulate, and reflect in professional practice the mission and philosophy of Center in the Park. Oversee the implementation of evidence-based Self-Management Programs (Chronic Disease Self-Management, Diabetes Self-Management, Chronic Pain Self-Management). Collaborate with Center Services staff in the implementation of health-related programs and special events, such as nutrition workshops, exercise classes, and health fairs. Coordinate the implementation of other evidence-based programming and funding opportunities related to health promotion. Recruit and train peer leaders and volunteers for programs. Coordinate program infrastructure development and training activities for academic-community based partnerships and projects, as funded. Incorporate innovative approaches to enhance the delivery of health promotion programs. Maintain data and all appropriate documentation and reports, including reporting to funders, including the Philadelphia Corporation for Aging (PCA) and statistics for annual reporting. Recruit participants to engage in the Center's health promotion programs and activities. Show enthusiasm to work with others in a team environment. Attend meetings and trainings as necessary and integrate new knowledge and skill into position. Administer evaluation surveys for health promotion programming, monitoring outcome metrics Oversee the implementation of Health Promotion program grants, including tracking budgets and program spending Write bimonthly health promotion articles for CIP newsletter. Supervise the Health Promotion Engagement Coordinator and support the implementation of off-site Health Promotion programming Supervise Health Promotion interns as needed
Knowledge/Experience Required:
Master of Public Health preferred, or an advanced degree and a minimum of 5 years experience in social services, mental health, human services, community health or health education Basic understanding of the physical and emotional needs of older adults Knowledge of computer systems and applications used in senior centers Knowledge of program development and training Basic understanding of marketing and outreach
Skills Required:
Computer skills, including database management Outstanding communication skills, oral and written Strong organizational, developmental, and planning skills. Good interpersonal skills Ability to work as a member of a multi-resource/task team.
