Job Description
Overview Oliver Leigh Group is a Headhunting/Recruitment firm searching on behalf of a highly exclusive private Country Club for a Director of Marketing and Communications. The ideal candidate is creative, collaborative, and deeply committed to the private club industry. This individual is a true team player — someone who listens carefully, responds thoughtfully to individual member needs, supports fellow managers consistently, and maintains a positive, solutions-oriented attitude, particularly during the heightened pace of the season. The Director of Marketing and Communications is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive marketing and communications strategies that elevate brand prestige, strengthen member engagement, and support membership growth and revenue objectives across all departments. This role requires a strategic thinker with refined creative judgment and strong analytical capability. The successful candidate must demonstrate exceptional written communication skills, including the ability to craft polished, professional correspondence reflective of the Club's standards. The Director must collaborate seamlessly with senior leadership and department heads while maintaining a hospitable, warm, engaging, and member-focused presence. This position serves as a steward of Club's brand, ensuring that every message, visual expression, and touchpoint aligns with the Club's premier positioning. This person will help contribute to the Club's culture of excellence where professionalism, teamwork, creativity, and genuine care for members and colleagues define success.EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND SKILLS REQUIRED 5-7
years of marketing or related experience (private club, luxury hospitality, or lifestyle brand experience strongly preferred) Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field preferred Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud products Exceptional written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail Ability to influence, lead, and collaborate across departments Demonstrated initiative and anticipatory thinking Ability to remain composed, flexible, and effective in a dynamic seasonal environment Deep appreciation for private club culture and member-centric serviceESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Planning Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies to promote club amenities, dining, golf, racquet sports, events, and membership. Analyze market trends, member feedback, and competitive positioning to identify opportunities for enhancement and growth. Brand Stewardship Ensure consistent, elevated branding across all communications and materials. Protect and enhance the Club's image through thoughtful, refined, and innovative campaigns. Maintain brand standards that reflect the exclusivity and prestige of the Club. Public Relations & Communications Manage the Club's public image with discretion and professionalism. Draft press releases, member communications, and executive messaging. Coordinate media opportunities aligned with the Club's brand positioning. Develop crisis communication strategies when necessary. Serve as liaison with any retained external agencies or media partners. Digital Marketing Oversee website strategy, Club APP, and content management to ensure a seamless, elevated digital presence. Direct email marketing initiatives, including member newsletters and seasonal communications. Manage SEO/SEM efforts, analytics reporting, and KPI tracking. Oversee CRM integration and reporting. Traditional Marketing Develop and execute print collateral, including brochures, event materials, dining promotions, and membership materials. Oversee photography and video production, including scheduling, vendor coordination, and logistics management. Conduct market research to remain informed of luxury and club industry trends. Membership Engagement & Growth Partner with Membership leadership to support recruitment and retention initiatives. Develop campaigns and programming that enhance member satisfaction and loyalty. Ensure marketing supports a highly personalized member experience. Event Promotion Collaborate with all departments to promote tournaments, dining events, social functions, and seasonal programming. Utilize integrated marketing channels to maximize awareness and participation. Budget Management Develop and manage the annual marketing budget. Monitor expenditures and evaluate return on investment. Team Leadership & Collaboration Lead and mentor marketing staff, fostering a culture of creativity, accountability, and service excellence. Maintain open, collaborative relationships with all department heads. Support fellow managers proactively, especially during peak operational periods.PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS
Ability to sit for extended periods while performing computer-based work. Standing, bending, and lifting to 30 lbs. as needed for events and activations. Flexibility in scheduling, including evenings and weekends during the season. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Ability to handle seasonality demand of their time while enjoying a slower summer pacePay:
