In-person interviews will take place on July 15, 2026 Click Here to View the Assistant City Manager Brochure The Opportunity The Assistant City Manager serves as a key member of the executive leadership team and assists the City Manager in advancing City Council priorities, coordinating major initiatives, representing the City Manager with external partners, and ensuring effective delivery of high-priority municipal services and projects. This position is primarily focused on external relations, intergovernmental coordination, community-facing initiatives, legislative advocacy, major projects, and strategic policy implementation. The Ideal Candidate The City seeks a strategic, collaborative, and forward-thinking executive leader to serve as Assistant City Manager. This position plays a critical role in advancing City Council priorities, strengthening organizational performance, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality municipal services. The ideal candidate is a trusted advisor to the City Manager, a skilled operator, and a relationship-driven leader who thrives in a dynamic public-sector environment. The Position & Qualifications The Assistant City Manager serves as a vital member of the executive leadership team, driving organizational initiatives, promoting collaboration across City departments, and ensuring the effective execution of City Council goals and priorities. A qualified candidate will typically possess a bachelor's degree in public administration, business administration, political science, public policy, urban planning, or a related field, and at least eight years of increasingly responsible municipal government or public sector leadership experience, including five years of management experience. Experience in city management, intergovernmental relations, legislative affairs, major projects, community engagement, or strategic policy implementation is highly desirable. A master's degree in public administration, public policy, business administration, urban planning, or a related field is desirable. Salary range reflects
FY 2025-26
compensation of $235,976 - $307,895 annually. Effective July 1, 2026, the
FY 2026-27
salary range will be $242,818 - $316,822 annually. The City offers an attractive benefit package. Interview Process Following a structured evaluation of the applications, the most qualified candidates will be invited to a panel interview scheduled on July 15, 2026 . The interviews may be consolidated into one process or expanded into multiple interviews contingent upon the size and quantity of the candidate pool.
