JOB SUMMARY
This role serves as the bridge between the Veteran, Military, Reserve, Guard, and Family community, including individuals and families, and various external partners such as community providers, coalitions, collaboratives, and agencies. The Veteran Community Liaison actively identifies Veteran, Military, Reserve, Guard, and Family needs and collaborates with partners to enhance the availability and quality of resources, ensuring the comprehensive support of the Veteran, Military, Reserve, Guard, and Family community.

RESPONSIBILITIESReasonable accommodation may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions. Facilitates and maintains active connections between the Veteran, Military, Reserve, Guard, and Family community and external organizations, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration. Educates and raise awareness about the unique needs and challenges faced by the Veteran, Military, Reserve, Guard, and Family community among external partners. Engages in regular community outreach activities, working closely with service providers, faith-based organizations, and other relevant stakeholders. Participates in scheduled community, county, and organizational meetings to represent and advocate for the needs of the Veteran, Military, Reserve, Guard, and Family community. Collaborates with local agencies, like the Homeless Outreach Team (HOT), to ensure effective and compassionate outreach efforts. Maintains and update a comprehensive referral directory and resource database, ensuring the Veteran, Military, Reserve, Guard, and Family community has up-to-date information. Offers peer counseling and support, leveraging personal experiences to create a genuine connection, trust, and rapport with the Veteran, Military, Reserve, Guard, and Family community. Ensure confidentiality, professionalism, and adherence to standards in all interactions. Works flexibly, including weekends/holidays, to meet the needs of the Veteran, Military, Reserve, Guard, and Family community and ensure their comprehensive support. Maintains confidentiality of clients care. Participates in scheduled program meetings. Other relevant duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS US
Veteran or child, spouse, or family member of someone with military service experience. High School Diploma or GED is mandatory. Bachelors degree in public administration, Education, or related field preferred. Peer Specialist Certification preferred. Previous experience in community outreach, public relations, or similar roles with at least two years of administrative experience. Demonstrated understanding of the Veteran, Military, Reserve, Guard, and Family community's unique needs and challenges. Valid CA drivers license, current auto insurance, and reliable transportation. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and EHR software. Effective communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
