As part of the largest girl-serving nonprofit in the country, we are focused on building a legacy of empowerment that will inspire and uplift generations to come. As the Director of Membership Growth and Engagement you will lead strategies to grow, engage and retain girl and adult members while strengthening relationships with volunteers, families and community partners. You will play a key role in shaping how members connect to and experience our mission and help inspire and support the next generation of changemakers.What You'll Do:
Lead with vision : Provide strategic direction for our Growth and Engagement team, ensuring alignment with council-wide priorities. Drive membership success : Design and execute a comprehensive annual plan to increase, retain, and engage both girl and adult members across the full membership lifecycle. Empower your team : Build and lead a high-performing department focused on collaboration, accountability, and excellence in member service. Harness data for impact : Leverage CRM and BI tools and insights to identify trends, set goals, and optimize growth and retention strategies. Partner across departments : Collaborate with Marketing to develop and execute integrated campaigns, messaging, and outreach strategies that drive recruitment and inspire engagement. Cultivate relationships : Engage with volunteers, families, and community leaders to expand awareness, strengthen connections, and engagement. Serve as a thought leader : Represent the Growth and Engagement teams on the Senior Management Team, championing strategic initiatives across the organization. Support fiscal responsibility : Oversee department budgets and resource planning to ensure long-term sustainability and impact.Experience and Skills:
What You'll Bring:
Bachelor's degree (required); Master's preferred in marketing, business, nonprofit management, or a related field, or equivalent experience. 5+ years progressive leadership experience in membership growth, sales, marketing, or engagement strategy. Demonstrated success driving B2C or membership-based growth and retention outcomes, ideally in a mission driven environment. Experience leading teams responsible for membership, customer success, or community outreach or engagement. Experience leveraging CRM systems, data analytics and performance metrics to guide strategy and improve performance. Proven ability to develop and execute strategies that improve member recruitment, engagement and retention. Ability to lead and develop high-performing teams in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. Strong business and financial acumen, including budget management and resource planning. Strengths in strategic thinking, performance coaching, and cross-functional collaboration. Excellent communication skills-clear, direct, and empathetic. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, and experience working with CRM/BI tools (Salesforce, Looker, etc.). Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel throughout the council area. Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends. Belief in the mission and values of Girl Scouting; be willing to subscribe to the principles expressed in the Promise and Law.Hiring Range:
