Job Description

Job Overview Big Heart Residential Care LLC is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Community Support Specialist to join our team. This role is essential in providing quality support to our DDD clients within Aurora / Denver by driving them to scheduled places within the community.
MUST HAVE
Own a mini SUV/Van that can carry minimum of three clients (For community Outings) Valid driver's license with clean driving record Ability to pass background/criminal record checks Physical capability: lifting, kneeling, bending as needed Basic CPR/First Aid certification•must obtain within 30 days of hire Strong communication, adaptability, and cultural sensitivity Ability to lift and transfer up to 50 lbs Willingness to work independently and with a team Experience working with individuals with disabilities Pay Range•$25 /hourly
Shift:
Monday•Thursday 9 a.m. to 3.00pm

Paid Training Paid Federal Holidays Mileage Reimbursement Duties & Responsibilities The ideal candidate for this position is someone who is interested in supporting people with disabilities in achieving their hopes and dreams. As a support specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining consistent engagement with the people you are supporting by driving them to places of interest as found in the daily schedules, in the community.
Duties includes:
Assist with activity choices for clients Drive assigned participants to community activities from home Drive participants back home after the community outings Supporting and encouraging positive interactions Improving social connections and relationships with peers and staffs Encourage living a fulfilled life through self-advocacy Supporting a person with personal hygiene and medical-related needs, including medication administration Providing documentation at the end of each shift Build meaningful and healthy relationships with individuals supported Experience The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience: Experience in transporting Clients for community activities is great Background in caregiving or direct support roles with individuals who have disabilities or special needs. Ability to assist client while in the community Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
