Job Description

Position starts ASAP and ends 12/30/26 GENERAL
FUNCTION
: To lead overall project coordination and execution of midterm election coverage produced by the Multimedia Reporter team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
: Oversees and coordinates day‑to‑day operations and assignments of Multimedia Reporters (MMRs). Serves as Manager of MMRs. Provides overall project coordination and execution of assignments. Supports the development and maintenance of the project plan, role definitions, and job descriptions. Coordinates onboarding and training schedules. Sets daily and weekly coverage priorities and assignments. Maintains the coverage calendar and event pipeline. Primary point of contact for interfacing with C-SPAN departments. Coordinates access, credentialing and logistics for MMRs. Prepares internal updates and external reports for funders. Identifies risks and escalates issues as needed. Manages workflows from assignment through publication and archiving. Provides budget oversight of project funding and approves expenses. Coordinates with local media partners and responds to partner needs. Tracks progress against objectives and success measures.
BACKGROUND/SKILLS
: Bachelor's degree in Communications, Radio/TV/Film, Political Science or Journalism. Minimum six years experience plus two years of management experience in politics, media production, newsroom operations or a related field. Proven people‑management experience, including direct supervision of a team. Strong operational skills. Experience coordinating logistics for events. Ability to set priorities, assign work and manage goals. Experience tracking progress and reporting on outcomes. Strong written and verbal communications skills. Experience managing budgets, approving expenses and ensuring projects remain on track financially. Ability to identify risks, solve problems and escalate issues appropriately. Experience overseeing political coverage. Familiarity with congressional, federal government or public affairs events. Background in managing grant‑funded or donor‑funded projects, including external reporting requirements. Experience collaborating with local media partners, affiliates or syndication partners. Ability to work a varied schedule, including nights and weekends.
