Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY
The Director of Community Impact and Development is responsible for the delivery, growth, and overall success of the Hispanic Outreach Center's community-based programs, while also leading fundraising, donor engagement, and resource development efforts to sustain and expand services. This role provides direct oversight of the Youth Coordinator, volunteers, and contractors to ensure program goals and methodologies are achieved. The Director serves as a key external ambassador for the organization, cultivating strong relationships with community partners, funders, and stakeholders to advance the Center's mission and impact. This position may require occasional evenings and weekends, accommodated within a 40-hour exempt workweek.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Program Leadership & Operations Create operating plans for Youth Program including logic models, methodologies, targets, goals, and key activities with deadlines and milestones; regularly monitor and evaluate program performance and budgets in line with organizational goals Ensure program operations and activities adhere to legal guidelines and internal policies; develop and update policies and procedures as needed Ensure Youth Program data and reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual performance tracking are accurate and monitored Community Engagement & Partnerships Cultivate and manage relationships with community partners, serving as the primary point of contact for external collaborations and contracts Develop new partnerships to expand programming and increase community impact Serve as a liaison and representative of the Hispanic Outreach Center in community meetings, coalitions, and committees Collaborate with internal teams to design and implement outreach strategies that increase participation and engagement Recruit and maintain volunteers and provide direction and support for volunteer orientation and training Development, Fundraising & Donor Relations Develop and implement an annual fundraising and development plan aligned with organizational goals Identify, research, and pursue grant opportunities, lead grant writing, submission, and reporting processes Build and maintain relationships with individual donors, foundations, corporate partners, and community stakeholders Design and execute donor cultivation, engagement, and stewardship strategies to increase donor retention and giving Partner with the CEO and Board of Directors to strengthen fundraising efforts and support donor development initiatives Track and report on fundraising progress, donor engagement, and revenue goals Support the development of sponsorship opportunities and community investment strategies Events & External Engagement Lead the planning and execution of fundraising and community engagement events from concept through completion Represent the organization at community events, networking opportunities, and public engagements to increase visibility and support Staff & Volunteer Management Recruit, hire, onboard, train, and supervise program staff Ensure collaboration among staff to meet program goals and resolve challenges Provide ongoing supervision, evaluations, and professional development Recruit, train, and manage volunteers to support program and event needs Secondary Duties Attend meetings with CEO, Board, and staff as needed Maintain strong knowledge of all programs and services Support organizational strategic initiatives and special projects Other duties as assigned by the CEO Qualifications Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, public administration, social work, communications, or a related field Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in nonprofit leadership, community engagement, program management, and/or fundraising Demonstrated success in grant writing, fundraising strategy, and donor relationship management Experience developing and managing community-based programs, including creating goals, tracking outcomes, and evaluating impact Proven ability to build and sustain partnerships with community organizations, stakeholders, and funders Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and budgets Experience supervising staff, volunteers, and/or contractors, including hiring, training, and performance management Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and external representation Proficiency in data tracking, reporting, and program evaluation Bilingual in English and Spanish (strongly preferred) Experience working with communities and culturally responsive programming Familiarity with donor management systems (e.g., CRM platforms) and fundraising tools
