Job Description

The Director of PR & Communications is responsible for building and protecting the FTL UTD brand in the press and public narrative, managing media relations, earned coverage, broadcast partnerships, and the club's external voice across all platforms. Responsibilities Lead and develop the Media Relations & Press Manager and Broadcast & Content Partnerships Manager Develop and execute the club's annual PR and communications strategy Serve as primary spokesperson and media contact for FTL UTD Build and maintain relationships with South Florida sports media (English and Spanish language) Manage executive communications for the Chairman, including press statements, op-eds, and public appearances Oversee crisis communications protocols and crisis response Lead communications around key announcements: men's team launch (March 2027), fund news, facility milestones, and player signings Qualifications 7+ years in PR, communications, or journalism, with at least 2 years in a leadership role Established relationships with South Florida media or national sports press Strong writing skills: press releases, statements, op-eds, executive communications Experience managing communications during high-stakes announcements or crises Preferred Sports PR background (club, league, or agency) Bilingual (English/Spanish) – Univision/Telemundo relationships a major plus Experience with broadcast rights or content distribution partnerships This is a hands-on, in-person role in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. Candidates should be prepared to work approximately 60 hours per week across six days and thrive in a culture built on hard work, accountability, and opportunity.
Compensation Salary range:
$54,600 – $66,500 depending on experience. Eligible for performance bonus tied to media coverage, brand visibility, broadcast partnerships, strategic communications initiatives, and achievement of key organizational objectives. To apply, send resume and portfolio to: tommy@ftlutd.com
