Memory Care Senior Living Position Summary:
The Sales Director for a Memory Care Senior Living community is responsible for driving occupancy, revenue growth, and brand awareness through strategic sales initiatives. This role focuses on building relationships with families, healthcare professionals, and referral partners while demonstrating deep empathy and understanding of residents with memory-related conditions such as Alzheimer's and dementia. The Sales Director serves as a trusted advisor to prospective residents and their families during emotionally sensitive decision-making processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Business Development Develop and execute a strategic sales and marketing plan to achieve and exceed occupancy goals.
Manage the full sales cycle:
lead generation, inquiry response, tours, follow-ups, and closing. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in CRM systems. Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and local demographics to identify growth opportunities. Lead Management & Conversion Respond promptly to all inquiries (phone, email, walk-ins, referrals). Conduct personalized tours tailored to the needs of memory care residents and their families. Build trust with prospects by educating them on memory care services, safety protocols, and lifestyle benefits. Follow structured follow-up processes to convert leads into move-ins. Relationship Building & Networking Establish and maintain strong relationships with hospitals, physicians, case managers, social workers, and community organizations. Represent the community at networking events, health fairs, and local outreach programs. Develop referral pipelines with key stakeholders in senior care and healthcare sectors. Marketing Collaboration Partner with marketing teams to implement campaigns, events, and digital strategies. Provide feedback on messaging, branding, and promotional efforts specific to memory care audiences. Assist in planning and hosting community events to attract prospects and referral sources. Customer Experience Guide families through the emotional transition into memory care with compassion and professionalism. Address concerns and objections with sensitivity and factual information. Ensure a seamless move-in experience in coordination with operations and care teams. Reporting & Performance Tracking Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) such as lead volume, conversion rates, and occupancy levels. Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports for leadership. Continuously refine sales strategies based on performance data. Job Outline / Daily & Weekly Structure Daily Activities Respond to new inquiries and follow up with existing leads. Conduct scheduled tours with prospective residents and families. Update CRM with detailed notes and next steps. Communicate with internal teams regarding upcoming move-ins or resident needs. Weekly Activities Review sales pipeline and adjust strategies as needed. Conduct outreach to referral partners (calls, visits, emails). Attend networking events or host community tours/events. Meet with Executive Director or leadership team to review performance metrics. Monthly Activities Evaluate occupancy goals and performance against targets. Analyze marketing campaign effectiveness. Strengthen relationships with top referral sources. Participate in strategic planning sessions. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Healthcare Administration, or related field (preferred). 3-5+ years of sales experience, preferably in senior living, healthcare, or related industries. Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets. Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills. Empathy and understanding of the needs of seniors with memory impairments and their families. Preferred Skills & Competencies Knowledge of memory care services, Alzheimer's, and dementia care best practices. CRM proficiency (e.g., Salesforce or similar systems). Ability to handle emotionally sensitive situations with professionalism. Strong organizational and time management skills. Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and results-driven mindset. Performance Metrics (KPIs) Occupancy rate and census growth Lead-to-tour and tour-to-move-in conversion rates Number of qualified leads generated Referral partner engagement levels Customer satisfaction and family feedback Work Environment Primarily on-site within a senior living community.
