PURPOSE OF POSITION
Bayfront Park is seeking an energetic, community-focused Community Liaison to strengthen relationships between the park, local residents, neighborhood organizations, businesses, cultural groups, and community stakeholders. The Community Liaison will serve as the primary point of contact for public inquiries and public records requests, coordinating timely and accurate responses in accordance with applicable laws and organizational policies. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator with a passion for public spaces, community building, and creating meaningful partnerships that enhance the visitor experience and strengthen Bayfront Park's role as a vibrant gathering place for Miami residents and visitors.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
  • Serve as the primary community contact for public record requests, neighborhood associations, civic groups, nonprofit organizations, and residents.
  • Respond professionally and promptly to community concerns, questions, and public records requests.
  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships that support Bayfront Park's programs, events, and community initiatives.
  • Attend community meetings, public forums, networking events, and stakeholder gatherings to represent the organization.
  • Coordinate outreach efforts to increase awareness of park programs, recreational opportunities, cultural events, and public initiatives.
  • Gather community feedback and provide recommendations to leadership regarding park operations, programming, and community needs.
  • Assist with planning and execution of community events, volunteer programs, and public engagement activities.
  • Develop and distribute communications materials, including newsletters, presentations, and community updates.
  • Collaborate with marketing, events, and operations teams to ensure successful community engagement efforts.
  • Maintain records of outreach activities, partnerships, constituent inquiries, and engagement metrics.
ACADEMIC & TRADES QUALIFICATIONS
: Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Public Administration, Community Development, Hospitality, or a related field. Minimum of two (2) years of experience in community outreach, public engagement, constituent relations, event coordination, or partnership development. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong relationship-building and networking abilities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital communication platforms. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed for events and community meetings.
Preferred:
Experience working with parks, public spaces, cultural institutions, nonprofit organizations, or local government entities. Knowledge of Miami's diverse communities and stakeholder landscape. Experience with community-based programming.
Pay:
$55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
