- Full-time Overview Serving as both a strategic leader and operational partner, the Communications Director will streamline communication processes, enhance system-generated communications, develop company-wide standards, and provide tools and resources that improve efficiency and consistency across all properties.
This role ensures that all communications reflect the organization's vision, culture, and brand standards while creating consistent messaging across communities, associates, residents, boards of directors, and stakeholders. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy aligned with the company's mission, culture, and long-term goals.
- Establish and maintain communication standards and brand guidelines across all communities, clubs, amenities, and departments.
- Ensure consistency in tone, style, and messaging across all internal and external communications.
- Serve as the steward of the company's brand identity and reputation.
- Oversee resident-facing communications including newsletters, announcements, website content, emails, digital signage, and emergency notifications.
- Support community managers and amenity teams in creating effective communications that enhance resident engagement and customer experience.
- Review and approve communications to ensure accuracy, professionalism, and brand consistency.
- Assist with crisis and emergency communication planning and execution.
- Evaluate and optimize communication workflows and systems across the organization.
- Collaborate with operations, IT, and community leadership to improve automated and system-generated communications.
- Develop templates, communication libraries, and standardized processes that create efficiency and reduce duplication.
- Partner with leadership to communicate organizational initiatives, updates, and key messages.
- Provide communication guidance and support to associates across all managed properties.
- Oversee content management for websites, social media platforms, and digital communication channels.
- Monitor communication effectiveness and recommend improvements based on feedback and analytics. Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Five or more years of progressive experience in communications, marketing, branding, or public relations.
- Experience developing communication strategies across multiple locations or business units preferred.
- Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong project management and organizational abilities with the capacity to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Experience with communication platforms, content management systems, email marketing tools, and social media management.
- Ability to influence and collaborate across departments and levels of the organization.
- Strong understanding of branding, customer experience, and organizational culture. Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer, including extensive keyboard and screen use.
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry materials, equipment, or supplies weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Must possess visual acuity to review documents, presentations, digital content, and communications with attention to detail.
- Ability to travel locally between communities, club facilities as needed.
- Occasional evening or weekend attendance may be required to support community events, meetings, or emergency communications. Work Environment
- Primarily performed in a professional office environment with frequent use of computers, communication systems, and digital platforms.
- Regular interaction with executive leadership, associates, board members, residents, club members, vendors, and community stakeholders.
- Requires periodic travel to managed communities, country club facilities, and amenity centers.
- Work involves managing multiple projects and deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- May be required to respond to urgent communications, weather events, or community emergencies outside of regular business hours.
