Position Summary Talbot House Ministries is seeking a dynamic, relationship-driven Community Engagement Liaison to support fundraising, marketing, sponsorship development, and community engagement efforts for the Center for Women and Children in Winter Haven. This position serves as a key ambassador for the organization, cultivating relationships with businesses, civic organizations, churches, community leaders, donors, volunteers, and sponsors to advance awareness and financial support for the Center's mission. The Community Engagement Liaison will lead local marketing initiatives, manage social media content, support special events, secure sponsorships, coordinate community outreach efforts, and assist with fundraising campaigns that support women and children experiencing homelessness and housing instability. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Community Relations & Outreach
  • Serve as a public representative of Talbot House Ministries throughout the Winter Haven community.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local businesses, churches, civic groups, foundations, schools, and community organizations.
  • Coordinate presentations, tours, speaking engagements, and community awareness activities.
  • Recruit and steward volunteers and community partners.
  • Identify opportunities for increased visibility and community engagement. Sponsorship Development & Fundraising
  • Prospect, solicit, and steward event sponsors and community partners.
  • Assist in developing sponsorship packages and donor engagement strategies.
  • Support annual fundraising campaigns benefiting the Center for Women and Children.
  • Maintain sponsor and donor communication before, during, and after events.
  • Track sponsorship commitments and ensure fulfillment of sponsor benefits. Events Management Support
  • Assist in planning and executing special events, including: o Annual Gala o Golf Tournament o Spring Community Events o 5K Run/Walk o Open Houses o Donor Appreciation Events o Community Awareness Campaigns
  • Coordinate event logistics, volunteers, sponsorship recognition, and community participation.
  • Support event promotion and attendee recruitment. Marketing & Social Media
  • Create and manage social media content aligned with Talbot House Ministries' branding and mission.
  • Develop engaging stories highlighting client success, community partnerships, volunteers, and donor impact.
  • Coordinate photography, video content, testimonials, and event promotion.
  • Assist with newsletters, press releases, marketing materials, and digital communications.
  • Monitor social media engagement and community interactions. Administrative Support
  • Maintain accurate records of sponsors, donors, volunteers, and community contacts.
  • Prepare reports related to engagement activities and fundraising outcomes.
  • Assist with data tracking and event evaluations.
  • Support stewardship activities and donor recognition efforts. Qualifications Education
  • Associate degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, or related field. Experience
  • Minimum of two years of experience in fundraising, community engagement, marketing, communications, event planning, or related field.
  • Experience working in nonprofit organizations preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in relationship building and sponsorship development. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong public speaking and presentation abilities.
  • Proficiency in social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and emerging channels.
  • Ability to create engaging content and marketing materials.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with team members.
  • Professional demeanor with strong networking and relationship-building skills.
  • Passion for serving vulnerable populations and advancing the mission of Talbot House Ministries. Physical Requirements
  • Ability to attend community events, meetings, and outreach activities.
  • Occasional evening and weekend work required.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds for event setup and materials. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Community Engagement
  • Minimum of 3 community outreach meetings or presentations per month.
  • Establish 100 new community contacts annually.
  • Recruit or engage 20 new volunteers annually. Sponsorship Development
  • Secure a minimum of $100,000 annually in event sponsorships and community support.
  • Obtain at least 30 new event sponsors annually.
  • Maintain sponsor retention rate of 80% or higher. Marketing & Communications
  • Publish a minimum of 15 social media posts monthly.
  • Generate monthly engagement growth across social media platforms.
  • Produce at least 2 donor/community impact stories per month.
  • Increase social media followers by 15% annually. Events
  • Assist in successful execution of all assigned fundraising and community events.
  • Achieve sponsorship goals established for each event.
  • Increase event attendance by 10% annually.
  • Maintain participant satisfaction ratings of 90% or higher when surveys are utilized. Donor & Community Stewardship
  • Ensure sponsor acknowledgments are completed within 10 business days of events.
  • Maintain accurate community engagement database records.
  • Conduct quarterly sponsor and community partner stewardship activities. Organizational Impact
  • Support annual fundraising goals established for the Center for Women and Children.
  • Demonstrate positive representation of Talbot House Ministries within the Winter Haven community.
  • Contribute to increased awareness and support of the Center's mission and services.
All positions at Talbot House Ministries require mandatory ongoing training and every employee is required to be available for all scheduled training. In addition, employee attendance is required at all mandatory staff meetings.
