Job Description

The Center Director is responsible for the development, supervision, and coordination of college credit, non-credit, and customized business & industry offerings for the area served by the assigned Center. Constant (67-100%) Provide educational leadership at the assigned Center. Be responsible for general interest programming for the assigned Center in coordination with Community Education and Deans. Provide specialized offerings for business and industry for credit or non-credit classes. Actively develop relationships with business and industry, K-12 school districts within the service area counties. Supervises the day to day administration of early bird programs, admissions procedures, advising, financial aid, assessment procedures; non-credit, bookstore, Registrar and Business office functions. Conducts recruiting visits and a continuous call program at High Schools and Businesses and Industries in service area counties. Collaborate and communicate with Economic Development and Community Education department. Supervises building security and Saturday duty. Frequent (34-66%) Provide student advising assistance for student orientation, registration, enrollment, and financial aid activities In coordination with the Deans, implement and promote the Center courses and programs. Ensure proper maintenance of facilities. Serve as liaison between campuses. Serve as an active member and citizen within the community. Supervise secretary, site monitors, tutors, work-study students, and custodian. Provide support for adjunct instructors, adult education instructors. Obtain approval from appropriate administrator and/or supervisor before scheduling events that are outside of the normal policy or procedure of Iowa Central Community College. Inform College personnel, internal/external contacts, and /or others as necessary regarding planned use of space. Identify and recruit credit and non-credit adjunct instructors. Assist in the development and coordination of center press releases, promotional materials, advertising, and social media Occasional (10-33%) Supervise the center's budget. Assist with evening and Saturday supervision, including the registration of students and the collection of fees for Adult Education classes. Supervise and coordinate all placement and course testing. Develop and coordinate student activities. Other duties as assigned.
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
Be able and willing to represent Iowa Central Community College in a positive manner with prospective, former and current students, clients, supporters, and the clients we serve. Be a creative, energetic, self-motivated individual with strong marketing abilities and experience, professional appearance, positive attitude and one who demonstrates leadership and organizational skills. Possess the ability to communicate clearly, concisely, logically and coherently both orally and in writing. Establish and maintain good working relationships with top management (or their designees) of business and industry, training managers, training participants, and the general public. Establish and maintain good working relationships with students and general public. Establish and maintain good working relationships with colleagues, staff, and administrators. Establish and maintain good working relationships with community and professional organizations, chamber of commerce, and other educational institutions. Establish and maintain good working relationships with the Iowa Department of Economic Development, Department of Education and other state, county and city governmental bodies. Possess a working knowledge of personal computers, general office equipment and educational media equipment. Possess strong human relations skills and the ability to get along with diverse populations. Assume responsibility; deal effectively with problems, and exercise independent judgment when making decisions. Retain an understanding of Iowa Central Community College services and programs with a working knowledge of writing training programs. Ability to repair, maintain and troubleshoot problems with audio visual equipment, computers, telephone system, computer networks, copy machines, and a variety of other technical equipment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in appropriate field of study. Work experience in various capacities of a Community College. Demonstrated organizational, leadership skills, human relations, marketing, salesmanship, negotiating skills, and ability to function autonomously with minimum of supervision.

Position involves constant (67-100%) talking to and listening to others in person and on telephone, repetitive motion and viewing computer screen and other types of close visual work, and sitting and/or standing in an office setting, and driving; Frequent (34-66%) getting up and down, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, pulling, carrying, and lifting 30-100 lbs.; and Occasional (10-33%) exerting up to 200 lbs.
