Marketing Coordinator Position Purpose The Director of Marketing and Communications is a senior strategic leader responsible for shaping and advancing the Chamber's brand, communications, publications, and media presence. This role drives meaningful growth in digital and social media engagement, oversees external partnerships, and ensures that marketing initiatives align with and amplify the Chamber's organizational priorities and community impact. Key Responsibilities Brand Management & Strategy Champion and maintain consistent brand standards across all Chamber organizations, initiatives, and communications, including logo usage, print materials, signage, and audio-visual assets. Recommend innovative approaches to reach targeted markets and expand the Chamber's community presence. Serve as a brand ambassador at key Chamber events and community functions. Digital & Social Media Develop and execute comprehensive social media strategies: establishing messaging, tracking trends, and optimizing content to grow engagement and community reach across all platforms. Lead the development, strategy, and maintenance of all Chamber websites, ensuring functional excellence, current content, and a user-friendly digital experience. Drive adoption of marketing automation tools and AI-powered platforms (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, Constant Contact, CRM integrations) to streamline workflows, enhance content quality, and scale personalization. Publications & External Communications Coordinate cross-departmental input and stakeholder contributions for signature and annual publications, including the Bowling Green & South Central Kentucky Magazine, Strategic Plan/Action Plan, Annual Report, and Legislative Agenda. Cultivate media relationships and identify public relations opportunities that increase visibility and establish thought leadership for the Chamber and its partners. Leverage CRM analytics to identify partner trends, strengthen organizational branding, and develop segmented communications that support partner retention and recruitment. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Vendor Management Collaborate with teams across Economic Development, Partnership Services, Workforce, and other departments to ensure marketing and communications efforts support broader organizational goals. Manage external contracts related to marketing and communications, including website design and implementation, communications, and public relations. Evaluate partner feedback, including survey results and analytics—to continuously refine the Chamber's Communications and Marketing Plan. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor's degree required. Three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience in marketing, communications, or a related field preferred. Special Requirements Valid driver's license required. Must be bondable. Must possess a valid U.S. Passport or Permanent Residence document, or have the ability to obtain one promptly. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strategic thinker with the ability to connect marketing initiatives to organizational impact and stakeholder needs. Strong leadership, delegation, and project management skills; proven ability to coordinate and motivate cross-functional teams. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messages for diverse audiences. Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and meet deadlines with accuracy. Proficient in AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot), email marketing platforms (Constant Contact), and content automation systems. Experienced with CRM systems, web content management, and digital analytics platforms. Strong analytical and mathematical aptitude, with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable strategies. High degree of discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive information. Sound judgment and integrity; a collaborative, solutions-oriented professional who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Demonstrated ability to build and sustain effective working relationships with staff, leadership, partners, and external stakeholders. Comfortable with change and adept at responding effectively to evolving priorities. Preferred Qualifications The following skills would be a meaningful asset in this role: Graphic design experience, including proficiency with Adobe Illustrator, Canva or similar design software / platforms. Video production and editing skills, with experience in tools such as CapCut or Adobe Premiere. Photography skills, including the ability to capture candid and staged photos and edit professional-quality images for use across print and digital channels. Physical Requirements & Working Conditions This role requires fine motor skills for extended computer use, strong verbal communication, and average visual and auditory abilities. The position involves a combination of sitting, standing, and moving throughout the office and community. Ability to move objects up to 50 lbs. is required. Work is performed in a moderately active office environment. Regular and extended computer use is expected. Travel within the local area is frequent; occasional national and international travel may be required. Work weeks may exceed 40 hours during peak periods.
