Duties and Responsibilities:
Work Habits:
40% Develop and implement student life and engagement programs across all campuses. Support the planning and delivery of study abroad outreach and student participation processes (no compliance oversight). Assist with student communications and digital engagement efforts in collaboration with Marketing and Communications. Plan, coordinate, and evaluate campus life programs, including student organizations, honor societies, SkillsUSA, and service-learning initiatives. Coordinate involvement events such as Student Involvement Weeks and Organization Fairs. Assist in planning campus-specific events and support the execution of college signature events. Coordinate student leadership development workshops, trainings, and skill-building opportunities. Manage assigned student support programs such as career exploration events, testing coordination tasks, and other engagement activities. Assist in maintaining procedures and resources for student organizations, including updates to the Leaders and Advising Handbook. Provide logistical support and planning for advisor trainings and student leadership sessions.
Behavioral Standards:
15% Maintain accurate program records, tracking participation and outcomes for reporting and improvement. Manage student engagement systems, including organization management software and campus digital monitors. Serve as advisor for student clubs or organizations without designated faculty advisors. Demonstrate professionalism, flexibility, and integrity when interacting with students, colleagues, and partners. Collect and analyze data related to campus programming, student participation, and event feedback. Assist in establishing program goals and learning outcomes consistent with student development best practices. Maintain statistical reports and assessments to support departmental planning. Support Institutional Effectiveness in administering student engagement-related surveys. Respond appropriately to students in distress by following established protocols and referring them to appropriate resources (no crisis case management responsibilities). Maintain confidentiality and adhere to institutional policies and compliance expectations.
Institutional Support:
15% Support recruitment and retention initiatives through high-quality student engagement programming. Assist with basic budget tracking and resource requests related to assigned programs (no departmental budget oversight). Serve as an advocate for student involvement and help students navigate campus life opportunities. Promote campus spirit, pride, and community through student engagement events and traditions. Participate in conferences, events, and networking opportunities to remain current with best practices in student engagement.
Team Relations:
10% Assist with marketing strategies to promote programs, events, and engagement opportunities. Utilize social media and other platforms to communicate with students and promote involvement. Participate in departmental discussions to review or revise policies related to student engagement and involvement. Collaborate with Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and other campus partners to support holistic student engagement. Provide training and professional development to student leaders and staff related to engagement and leadership programming. Represent the department at campus events, meetings, and professional development opportunities.
Leadership:
20% Supervise assigned staff, including training, scheduling, task delegation, evaluation, and coaching. Provide day-to-day leadership to ensure effective program operations and high-quality service delivery. Support onboarding, mentoring, and professional development for program staff and student workers. Maintain clear expectations and provide regular feedback to support staff performance. Assist with identifying needs, recommending improvements, and supporting the growth of engagement programs.
Minimum Qualifications :
High school diploma and 2 years of related experience in education, student affairs, marketing, event management, event planning, leadership development or similiar.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Language Skills
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional materials; write reports and correspondence; and effectively present information to groups. Must demonstrate strong reasoning and communication skills. Mathematical Skills
  • Ability to perform basic computations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, and ratios; ability to interpret basic charts and graphs. Reasoning Ability
  • Ability to solve practical problems and handle various situations where standardization may be limited, and to interpret written, oral, and diagram-based instructions. Computer Skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Ability to learn College-specific software and applications.
Preferred Qualifications :
Associate's degree and 4 years of related experience in event planning, leadership development, student affairs, or similar.
