As the North America Design Communications Lead, you'll champion the stories behind our vehicles, our designers, and the breakthrough thinking that defines our brands. This role sits at the intersection of creativity, technology, and culture—translating complex design philosophies into compelling narratives that resonate across media, industry, and consumer audiences. You'll help elevate the visibility of our Design organization by driving strategic storytelling, cultivating strong media relationships, and producing content that showcases our leadership in design and intelligent mobility.
Responsibilities Include:
Develop and execute integrated 360 (internal and external) communications strategies that support design narratives for our brands, vehicles, and design disciplines (interior, exterior, CMF, etc.) Collaborate with Global Design Comms to ensure the narrative for North America aligns with global priorities Support Design senior leadership team, along with the extended design team for industry and brand storytelling opportunities Manage and identify technical and automotive media relations and thought leadership opportunities, positioning key voices as experts in the field of automotive design Support product and brand storytelling efforts to extend news-making moments between reveal and launch periods Create high-impact content across channels — including press materials, executive messaging, and other engaging content — to highlight our design team leadership Monitor industry trends and competitive activity
Qualifications Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related field 7+ years of experience in communications, preferably in automotive or lifestyle/travel sectors, with established media relationships Must be curious, proactive and performance-driven, with the ability to build strong interorganizational relationships, prioritize, and work under pressure Experience designing and executing multiple simultaneous strategic external communications plans and programs that drive awareness, engagement, and brand credibility Expert relationship builder that can confidently engage with media, analysts, and senior internal stakeholders to represent and communicate creative product and brand stories Experience managing lifestyle media and creator/influencer relations Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills across formats and platforms that engage multiple audiences Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization while exercising discretion and maintaining confidentiality Agency experience is a plus Benefits Salaried Employee Benefits (US, Non-Represented) Health & Wellbeing Comprehensive coverages encompassing the Physical, Mental, Emotional, and overall Wellbeing of our employees, including short- and long-term disability.
