Job Description

BASIC PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Internal Communications and Engagement Officer support the Director of Communications in executing and advancing internal communication strategies across BankFirst. This position is responsible for ensuring communications are clear, consistent, and aligned with organizational priorities, while enhancing how employees' access and engage with information across the company. This role plays a key part in translating business priorities into meaningful communication and partners closely with business units and leadership to support messaging and strengthen alignment across departments.
DUTIES OF POSITION
Internal Communications & Strategy Draft, edit, and publish communications across the intranet and other internal channels. Partner with business units to develop and align content prior to distribution. Contribute to communication plans for key initiatives, organizational updates, and change efforts. Maintain consistency in messaging, tone, and brand standards. Assist in the development and execution of internal communication strategy aligned with business priorities. Intranet & Channel Management Maintain and enhance the intranet and internal communication channels to ensure content accuracy and accessibility. Manage pages, links, and content across various departments. Guide departments on content submission and effective communication practices. Evaluate usability and recommend improvements to strengthen employee experience and content discoverability. Content Governance & Agency Coordination Manage a centralized content calendar to align timing and prioritization of communications. Support governance efforts, including channel usage, posting standards, and content ownership. Collaborate with external agencies to develop internal communication assets and campaigns. Translate business needs into clear and actionable creative requests for external partners. Engagement, Analytics & Improvement Support initiatives that strengthen employee engagement and company culture. Track and report on communication performance, including engagement metrics and channel usage. Prepare and deliver quarterly updates to executive leadership on communication performance and key initiatives.
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE/ SKILLS
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.
Experience:
2 to 5 years of experience in internal communications or a related role.
Skills:
Strong writing, editing, and interpersonal skills; ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with external agencies or managing creative projects. Experience with intranet or internal communication platforms. Familiarity with financial services or corporate environments.
