Reporting to the Director of Philanthropy & Community Engagement, this role leads the strategy and execution of the school's annual giving program, the Forsyth Fund , which supports students, faculty excellence, and innovative programming. Guided by the school's mission, "Forsyth Country Day is a Community of Learners Dedicated to Preparing Our Students for What's Ahead," the Associate Director partners with the Director of Philanthropy & Community Engagement, Director of Alumni Engagement, and Donor Relations Coordinator to strengthen participation and engagement across the school community. This role focuses primarily on parent participation, manages a portfolio of current parent families, and coordinates volunteers who champion the Forsyth Fund. The ideal candidate is a proactive relationship builder with strong communication skills, creativity in storytelling, digital fluency, and a commitment to confidentiality. This role is central to cultivating a culture of philanthropy that strengthens the entire school community. The Associate Director inspires engagement, connects families to the school's mission, and ensures the Forsyth Fund reflects the impact of shared generosity. Key Responsibilities Annual Giving & Volunteer Leadership Lead the strategy, planning, and execution of the Forsyth Fund in partnership with the Director of Philanthropy & Community Engagement Build and manage parent participation initiatives in collaboration with the Parents Association; attend meetings and maintain an active presence Recruit, train, and support volunteers including class agents, parent ambassadors, and student philanthropy ambassadors Manage a portfolio of current parent families, fostering relationships, stewardship, and engagement Support faculty/staff and grandparent participation initiatives to advance a culture of philanthropy Partner with the Philanthropy team on broader campaigns and initiatives as needed Marketing, Communications & Digital Engagement Partner with the Director of Marketing & Brand Strategy to develop annual giving messaging and campaign materials Lead GiveCampus coordination, campaign pages, and digital participation initiatives Create engaging digital content, including video storytelling and social media posts Utilize Canva and similar design tools to produce campaign materials and volunteer resources Support philanthropic messaging across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and other platforms Data Management & Reporting Maintain donor records, engagement notes, and campaign tracking in Raiser's Edge Manage donor segmentation and campaign analytics to guide outreach strategies Prepare annual giving updates and participation reports for leadership and trustee committees Monitor campaign progress and provide regular updates to the Director of Philanthropy & Community Engagement Event Collaboration Assist with planning and facilitation of philanthropy-related events Represent the Philanthropy Office at school events and community gatherings Qualifications Bachelor's degree required; 2-3 years of experience in advancement, philanthropy, or nonprofit development; independent school experience preferred Experience with annual giving or participation-based fundraising; GiveCampus experience strongly preferred Proficiency with Raiser's Edge or similar donor management systems Skilled in digital engagement platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn) and design tools (Canva or similar) Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication; strong organizational and project management skills Demonstrated ability to collaborate with volunteers, colleagues, and parents Commitment to professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality Full-time, on-campus position with occasional evening and weekend availability Essential Functions Regularly required to walk, including across uneven ground, talk, hear, reach with hands and arms, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds Must be able to sit and stand on the floor throughout the day, and bend, kneel, or squat. Must be able to operate a computer and have basic knowledge of Google Workspace and be able to navigate donor databases. Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the school and other facilities as needed Must be able to utilize oral and written communication skills effectively
