DICKINSON STATE UNIVERSITY

The DSU Heritage Foundation stimulates and fosters an active interest from alumni and friends that encourages participation in the support of the University. This is accomplished by creating and maintaining a consistent flow of funds to achieve our vision of being the premier support for the University's commitment to provide the finest and most invigorating global-learning environment. The DSU Heritage Foundation secures, manages, and disburses these private funds for the benefit of the student and the University. DSU is looking to hire a Community Engagement & Events Manager. This position is responsible for fostering relationships with university Alumni, Donors and Friends; increasing participation; increasing friendship database and engagement by being involved in the community; developing programs and projects to benefit DSU; and assisting with campus events and office functions as needed. This position promotes goodwill for the university and among its constituents by representing the university at numerous events and by developing relationships with university students, faculty, staff, alumni and the public. The major purpose of this position is to build the database through events such as Golf and mini-Socials.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree or higher in related field; OR Two (2) years of college and three (3) years of directly related work experience Three (3) years of alumni-relations or fund-raising experience with demonstrated accomplishment in fostering productive relationships with volunteers and developing volunteer leadership. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, together with the ability to work collaboratively and courteously with colleagues throughout the University, alumni, other constituents and the public. Experience organizing volunteers in the planning of major and special events. Demonstrated effective organizational, planning and management skills. Knowledge of database utilization and office computer software.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Golf Tournaments Build golf tournaments in Bismarck, ND and Pheonix, AZ to establish, build and maintain relationships with alumni and friends locally, nationally and internationally. Determining whether it is feasible to have a tournament in Williston and/or Fargo on any given year. Secure sponsors for each event such as overall sponsors, hole sponsors, meal sponsors and prize sponsors. Assist in building and maintenance the budget for each golf tournament with the Alumni Coordinator. Assist to ensure the tournaments contracts are completed and secure. Contact alumni and friends to fill the golf tournaments. Assist in promoting the golf tournaments. Provide Board and Committee updates for each tournament. Serve as the POC for all participants and sponsors for each golf tournament hosted by the DSU Heritage Foundation. Socials, location events Build four socials per year to promote DSU and the DSU HF-all directed by the Executive Director on an annual basis for sponsors and friends. Secure sponsors to assist in paying for each event. Build and maintain the budget for each event. Ensure the venue contracts are completed and secure. Assist in promoting the events. Provide Board and Committee updates for each event. Assist with pre-game hosting for BHTDC with the BHTDC Coordinator. Annual Foundation Destination Trip Fundraising Build and distribute as well as meet annual goals for the following

COMPENSATION PACKAGE
Salary beginning at $35,000/annually, commensurate with qualifications and experience Comprehensive fringe benefits, including, but not limited to: 100% employer-paid health insurance (family or single coverage) TIAA retirement Tuition waiver benefits Possible eligibility to participate in the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program with the US Department of Education.
