Children's Museum Development team. This position supports Museum operations through acquisition of foundation and government grant funding and management and reporting relevant to grant awards. A primary goal for this position is to cultivate responsible and responsive stewardship of the Museum's grant making donor relationships.Job Responsibilities:
Manage the full grant lifecycle (research, writing, reporting, and stewardship). Develop and maintain a comprehensive grants calendar. Strengthen relationships with foundation and institutional funders. Lead development communication. Ensure consistency in storytelling across fundraising channels. Prepare and submit grant applications for foundation, corporate and government grant opportunities. Prepare grant reports and work with program and finance staff to compile budget summaries, survey results and outcome data. Work with VP of Development to manage a grant calendar and plan upcoming applications, proposals and reporting. Schedule and manage meetings as necessary to gather program information, requirements or outcomes to develop grant proposals or report on existing grants. Coordinate with program and finance team to prepare program budgets for grant proposals. Communicate grant requirements, commitments and budgets to program, finance and marketing staff. Develop or obtain relevant supporting documentation for grant applications, including logic models, project schedules, staff resumes/bios, key organizational, financial documents. Research potential prospects including past giving, focus areas, grant making processes. Lead the quarterly grant coordination meetings and assist with meeting notes and follow-up. Compile and distribute materials for grant coordination meetings, as assigned. Maintain records related to grant activities in Bloomerang and Instrumentl. Plan and manage workload to ensure all deadlines for grant applications and reports are met.Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree required. Minimum of 1-3+ years of experience in an area related to grant writing, grant management, development, or project management Prior nonprofit work or government grant writing experience a plus. Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, working with databases and internet research; knowledge of databases with experience with Bloomerang and Instrumentl preferred. Excellent reading, writing and grammar skills. Both written and verbal. Proven ability to take initiative on projects while working effectively both independently and collaboratively under leadership guidance. Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail and the ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.Schedule:
