This is a full-time position in the Resource Development Department with a salary of $75,000. Position Summary The Director of Individual Giving plays a pivotal role in advancing our mission by cultivating meaningful relationships with individual donors. As a key member of the Resource Development team—a collaborative, mission-driven, and supportive group—this leader will drive individual philanthropy strategies, steward major donors, and inspire community investment in support of ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) families. This is an ideal opportunity for a dynamic, relationship-oriented professional who thrives on connecting with donors and creating impactful giving experiences. Key Responsibilities Donor Strategy and Relationship Management
  • Lead the development and execution of strategies to engage, cultivate, solicit, and steward individual donors at all levels.
  • Manage a portfolio of Tocqueville Society donors (gifts of $10,000+), ensuring personalized engagement and recognition.
  • Identify and cultivate prospective major donors (gifts of $10,000+) to build a robust pipeline for future giving.
  • Build relationships with Leadership level donors ($1,000 to $9,999), growing their engagement to the Tocqueville Society. Stewardship and Engagement
  • Design and implement donor stewardship programs that ensure timely and meaningful acknowledgment of contributions.
  • Plan cultivation and stewardship events, meetings, and gatherings that deepen donor connection to United Way's mission.
  • Collaborate across departments—including communications/community engagement, community impact, executive leadership, finance, and data teams—to deliver the best possible donor experience. Reporting and Systems Management
  • Ensure maintenance of accurate donor records in our CRM—StratusLive.
  • Provide regular progress updates and insights to internal stakeholders.
  • Continuously evaluate and enhance stewardship systems and processes.
  • Provide ideas, advice, and creativity around the donor experience and how we can make it better every year. Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of five years of experience in nonprofit philanthropy, with a focus on individual and major giving.
  • Proven success in securing five-figure gifts or higher from individual donors.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with StratusLive, Power BI, or similar platforms preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire and collaborate with volunteers and staff.
