Job Description

Overview Intellectus Preparatory Charter School is a 6-12 public charter school in Mount Vernon, NY, committed to delivering an equitable, rigorous educational experience that prepares scholars to compete academically, contribute socially, and choose their pathway to college and career. At Intellectus Prep, families are partners in the work. We prioritize clear communication, strong relationships, and consistent engagement to ensure every scholar and family is supported and aligned to the school's expectations. Role Overview The Family Engagement & Enrollment Manager is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of the family experience , from initial inquiry through enrollment and ongoing engagement. This role ensures that prospective families move through the enrollment process efficiently and that current families remain informed, connected, and committed to the school community. The position combines enrollment management, family communication, and structured engagement systems , including the development and oversight of the Parent Ambassadors Program and Family Connexus. The Family Engagement & Enrollment Manager plays a key role in supporting enrollment growth, strengthening family partnerships, and maintaining high levels of retention. Core ResponsibilitiesEnrollment & Admissions Management Manage all prospective family inquiries from initial contact through enrollment Schedule and coordinate school tours, information sessions, and onboarding meetings Ensure timely follow-up with prospective families to support application completion and enrollment Maintain accurate tracking of leads, applications, and enrollment status Support outreach efforts to increase visibility and enrollment Family Communication Serve as the primary point of contact for families Execute regular communication using platforms such as Constant Contact and Text-Em-All Ensure all communications are clear, timely, and aligned with school expectations Maintain accurate and up-to-date family contact information Parent Ambassadors Program Develop, implement, and manage the IPCS Parent Ambassadors Program Recruit and support families who serve as ambassadors for the school Coordinate ambassador participation in recruitment efforts, events, and outreach Maintain consistent communication and expectations with Parent Ambassadors Family Connexus & Engagement Plan and execute the IPCS Family Connexus to support ongoing family engagement Organize and facilitate regular family meetings and engagement opportunities Monitor participation and adjust strategies to increase engagement and connection Ensure engagement efforts are aligned to school priorities and support retention Retention & Family Support Monitor family engagement and identify concerns or barriers to retention Partner with leadership to address issues and support families effectively Reinforce school expectations related to attendance, behavior, and academic accountability Track retention data and analyze trends, including reasons for withdrawal Events & Community Engagement Plan and coordinate family-facing and recruitment events Ensure events are well-organized, well-communicated, and effectively executed Support follow-up after events to maintain engagement and support enrollment Systems & Operations Maintain organized and accurate enrollment and family records Track and report on enrollment pipeline and retention data Ensure all family-facing systems and processes are efficient and consistent Qualifications Bachelor's Degree required Experience in sales with metrics Experience in family engagement, admissions, school operations, or a related field Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain attention to detail
Preferred:
Experience in a school or nonprofit setting Bilingual (Spanish and/or French) Competencies Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with families Clear and effective communicator (written and verbal) High level of organization and follow-through Ability to manage systems and processes efficiently Professionalism and discretion when handling sensitive information Compensation Compensation is competitive and based on experience.
