Full-time Position Summary:
The Senior Director of Communications and Community Outreach is a strategic leader responsible for shaping, advancing, and executing the Shames JCC on the Hudson's communications, marketing, outreach, and brand strategies. This role drives community awareness, membership growth, and program engagement by developing and implementing strategic initiatives that grow audiences and reflect the J's mission, values, and impact.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Brand Management Develop and lead a comprehensive communications and marketing strategy that aligns with the JCC's mission and organizational goals. Build and strengthen the JCC's brand presence across digital, social, print, and community channels. Monitor and analyze market trends, member feedback, and competitive landscape to inform strategic decisions. Marketing & Outreach Drive enrollment and engagement across all programs, events, and services through innovative print, digital, social media, and community-based campaigns. Oversee the creation and distribution of marketing materials, including collateral, newsletters, digital content, and social media. Collaborate with department leaders to develop targeted promotion plans that increase participation and community reach. Communications & Public Relations Lead internal and external communications, ensuring messaging is clear, consistent, and aligned with organizational priorities and goals. Build and maintain relationships with media outlets, community partners, and other stakeholders to enhance visibility, audience reach, and community awareness. Manage crisis communications as needed. Team Leadership & Development Lead, mentor, and develop the communications and marketing team, fostering a culture of creativity and excellence. Collaborate across departments to integrate and support communications strategies for targeted efforts.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related field (Master's preferred). 10+ years of experience in marketing, communications, or public relations, including leadership of teams and strategic initiatives. Proven experience driving enrollment, engagement, and brand growth in a nonprofit or membership-driven organization. Exceptional written, verbal, and digital communication skills. Strong analytical skills, with experience using data to inform strategy and measure outcomes. Ability to build collaborative relationships across departments, stakeholders, and community partners.
