Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Vice President of Advancement to lead our fundraising, development, and engagement efforts. This vital role is responsible for cultivating meaningful relationships with donors, alumni, volunteers, and community partners to advance our mission. The Vice President of Advancement will develop innovative strategies to increase philanthropic support, oversee comprehensive fundraising campaigns, and strengthen our organization's visibility through effective marketing and public relations initiatives. This position offers an exciting opportunity to drive growth and impact within a vibrant organization committed to making a difference. Duties Develop and execute a comprehensive strategic plan for fundraising, alumni engagement, and donor relations that aligns with organizational goals. Lead the planning, coordination, and management of fundraising events, ensuring they are impactful and well-executed. Oversee the creation of compelling proposals and grant applications to secure funding from foundations, corporations, and government agencies. Manage a portfolio of major donors and cultivate long-term relationships through personalized engagement strategies. Utilize CRM (Customer Relationship Management) software such as Salesforce or Raiser's Edge to track donor interactions, data collection, and reporting. Implement digital marketing campaigns using platforms like Mailchimp, Constant Contact, and WordPress to enhance outreach efforts via email marketing and social media management. Collaborate with the marketing team to develop branding initiatives that elevate public relations efforts and organizational visibility. Oversee volunteer management programs and coordinate estate planning activities including wills, trusts, and estate law consultations. Prepare budgets for advancement activities, monitor expenditures, and ensure resource allocation aligns with strategic priorities. Conduct research on potential funding sources, industry trends, and best practices in nonprofit management to inform strategic decision-making. Skills Proven expertise in event planning and events management to deliver successful fundraising functions. Strong negotiation skills for securing sponsorships, partnerships, and donor commitments. Experience with data collection techniques to analyze campaign effectiveness and donor engagement metrics. Exceptional relationship management abilities to foster trust with donors, volunteers, partners, and internal teams. Excellent public relations skills to enhance organizational reputation through media outreach and community involvement. Proficiency in CRM software such as Salesforce or Raiser's Edge for data tracking and reporting purposes. Strategic planning capabilities combined with grant proposal writing experience to secure diverse funding streams. Knowledge of digital marketing tools including Mailchimp, Constant Contact, WordPress, social media management platforms, and email marketing strategies. Familiarity with nonprofit management practices including budgeting, research methodologies, fundraising strategies, volunteer coordination, and estate planning legal considerations such as Wills & Trusts law.
