Job Description
Your Responsibilities will include:
Communications strategy Build upon our existing communications strategy, working with leadership to ensure consistent, cohesive messaging for the Center overall. Identify target audiences that support the Center's strategic priorities and tailor messaging and communication activities accordingly. Coordinate strategy and activities with communications colleagues at the Woods Institute for the Environment and Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability. Content creation Identify and develop compelling content that elevates the Center's research and impact. Produce a quarterly newsletter and craft weekly social media posts. Maintain the Center for Ocean Solutions website and ensure project pages, event listings, and the publications directory remain up-to-date. Digital engagement Identify benchmarks and set engagement goals for social media and the website. Analyze metrics to assess the effectiveness of communication priorities. Program communications & stakeholder engagement Work with leadership to assess communication needs for research proposals and special projects. Estimate communications costs, draft concept notes, calculate timeframes, and project manage vendors to produce deliverables in support of special projects. Collaborate with external partners to engage key audiences and ensure cohesive messaging ahead of major events, like United Nations conferences. To be successful in this position, you will need: Bachelor's degree and five years of relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience. Excellent written communication skills, reporting skills, and advanced skills in conceptual editing, copy editing, and proof reading. Ability to work collaboratively with internal communications groups across campus. Demonstrated interpersonal skills in working with a variety of people. The expected pay range for this position is $118,806 to $134,486 per annum. The actual pay will be pro-rated based on the 50% FTE. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of the salary or hourly wage the university reasonably expects to pay for a position upon hire . The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location, and external market pay for comparable jobs.
