Payactiv is seeking a Director of State Government & Stakeholder Affairs to lead our engagement with key state policy organizations and national political associations, such as the Attorneys General Association (AGA), Democratic Attorneys General Association (DAGA), Republican Attorneys General Association (RAGA), Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee (DLCC), Republican Legislative Campaign Committee (RLCC), and related convenings. This role will own strategy and execution for Payactiv's presence at high-impact state policy events and will cultivate durable relationships with attorneys general offices, governors' offices, legislative caucuses, and consumer advocacy organizations. The ideal candidate is a seasoned state policy professional who thrives in relationship-driven environments and is comfortable representing Payactiv in bipartisan settings. What you will do… State Policy Organization Engagement Develop and execute Payactiv's engagement strategy for state policy organizations and national political associations. Build and maintain relationships with state attorneys general offices and governors' policy teams. Serve as the company's on-the-ground representative at conferences, fly-ins, and policy meetings nationwide. Partner closely with Public Policy, Legal, Compliance, and Communications teams to align external engagement with legislative strategy. Identify sponsorship, speaking, and partnership opportunities aligned with company priorities. Track emerging state trends and brief internal stakeholders on political and regulatory developments. Prepare briefing materials, talking points, and event summaries. What you need… 7 to 12+ years of experience in state government relations, public policy, attorneys general engagement, or national political associations. Direct experience working with or at organizations such as NGA, AGA, NCSL, CSG, DLCC, RLCC, state legislatures, the CFPB, or similar institutions. Strong bipartisan relationship-building skills and comfort operating in politically diverse environments. Familiarity with financial services, fintech, labor policy, and/or consumer protection issues preferred. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; able to represent Payactiv with credibility and diplomacy. Highly organized and self-directed, with the ability to manage travel and shifting priorities. Comfortable with high travel volume and in-person engagement.
