Job Description:
Internship ResponsibilitiesInterns will:
Support restorative practice programming, events, circles, and community initiativesAssist with documenting programs and events through photography and videography to support organizational storytelling, marketing, and community engagement efforts.
Attend community gatherings, workshops, and networking opportunities alongside the Executive DirectorBuild professional relationships with community leaders, nonprofit partners, and movement organizationsAssist with outreach, organizing, and networking follow up for the Executive DirectorParticipate in discussions focused on healing justice, transformative justice, and Black liberation practicesEngage in reflective learning, leadership development, and collaborative team spacesDevelop and complete a capstone project in partnership with the Executive DirectorLearning OutcomesBy the end of the internship, participants will:
Gain foundational exposure to restorative justice practices and community-based healing workStrengthen professional networking and relationship-building skillsDevelop confidence navigating nonprofit, advocacy, and organizing spacesBuild leadership, communication, and collaboration skillsDeepen understanding of Black liberation frameworks and community empowerment strategiesComplete a meaningful capstone project connected to social impact and liberation-centered workCapstone Project DetailsEach intern will complete a capstone project centered on Black liberation practices. Rather than assigning one specific project, interns will be encouraged to develop ideas that reflect their passions, academic interests, lived experiences, and community concerns. Throughout the internship, interns will collaborate directly with the Executive Director to refine, strengthen, and finalize their capstone vision.
Possible capstone formats may include:
Community workshops or healing circlesStorytelling, art, or multimedia projectsCommunity research initiativesResource guides or toolkitsPublic presentations or community conversationsThe capstone process is designed to help interns practice leadership, critical thinking, collaboration, and liberation-centered problem solving while creating a project with meaningful community impact.
QualificationsWe welcome applicants who are:
Current college students or recent graduatesPassionate about social justice, restorative justice, community healing, or Black liberation workInterested in nonprofit leadership, organizing, advocacy, or community engagementStrong communicators who are willing to learn and collaborateOpen to personal growth, reflection, and relationship-centered workAble to work respectfully across diverse communities and experiencesPrevious experience is appreciated but not required. We value lived experience, authenticity, creativity, and a genuine commitment to community.

The position is hybrid, with in person meetings being necessary approximately 4 times per month. The in-person meetings will take place in RRB offices in Baltimore, Maryland.
