Job Description
The Senior Campus Organizer builds and strengthens relationships with Secular Student Alliance chapters and student leaders across the country. This role combines student organizing, leadership development, chapter support, and national program coordination to help students create thriving secular communities on their campuses. The Senior Campus Organizer serves as a primary point of contact for assigned chapters, supports new chapter development, coordinates student programs and events, and contributes to SSA's broader organizing strategy and partnerships. The ideal candidate is an experienced relationship-builder who thrives in collaborative, mission-driven environments and is passionate about supporting diverse student leaders. Key Responsibilities Chapter Organizing & Support Serve as the primary staff contact for assigned SSA chapters and student leaders. Build ongoing relationships with student organizers through coaching, outreach, and leadership development. Support chapter growth, organizing strategy, conflict resolution, and campus engagement efforts. Assist students with chapter registration and semesterly renewal processes. Identify opportunities for new chapter development and expansion. Deliver timely, responsive, and high-quality support to student leaders and chapters. Programs & Events Coordinate assigned aspects of SSA's annual conference and other regional or national programs and events. Support the administration of scholarships, project grants, speakers bureau requests, and other student-facing programs. Collaborate with staff, volunteers, and partners to deliver engaging and effective programming for students. Represent SSA at conferences, campus events, and partner meetings as needed. Communications & Operations Maintain accurate organizing, chapter, and outreach records within database and CRM systems. Prepare regular organizing updates and reports. Contribute to digital outreach efforts, including social media, web content, and communications projects. Assist in improving organizing systems, resources, and workflows. Organizational Leadership & Collaboration Contribute to organizational planning, strategic initiatives, and cross-team collaboration. Support relationship-building with aligned organizations and coalition partners. Help strengthen SSA's organizing infrastructure and student engagement strategy. Mentor and support emerging student leaders and volunteers. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. At least 3 years of experience in student organizing, community organizing, campus engagement, or related nonprofit work. Strong relationship-building and interpersonal communication skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Experience working with diverse and intersectional communities. Comfort working in a fast-moving, mission-driven environment with evolving priorities. Experience with student leadership development or campus-based organizing. Experience with digital communications, social media strategy, or web content development. Experience using CRM or database systems and productivity platforms such as Google Workspace and Microsoft Office. Familiarity with nonprofit, advocacy, or movement-based organizations. Compensation & Benefits Salary Range:
$65,000-$68,000 annually, commensurate with experience. Benefits include:

Work Environment The Secular Student Alliance is a small, collaborative, mission-driven organization where staff members contribute across teams and play a meaningful role in organizational strategy and impact. This is a full-time hybrid position based in Pasadena, California. Staff work remotely on Fridays. Our office is located near the Metro A Line, and free parking is available.
